Our whole family has all of the Sarah Young books. These books have a way of touching our lives personally through Sarah's gift of words and her knowing Bible scriptures. I bought two of this particular design to give to friends as gifts - they were very well received.
I too was hoping to get a "youth" addition for my Grandson and was very disappointed it was the exact version as all the other Jesus Calling. Don't get me wrong---I LOVE Jesus Calling, I give out so many copies of it to different friends but I was VERY DISSAPOINTED in this one being labeled specifically for a "youth" and it was not. They need to change that in their description of this version. If you especially like the cover, go for it! But if you are ordering it for a young person--it's not what you want.
I love my edition of Jesus Calling and wanted a version for my 12 year old. I was disappointed to find out the teen version is the exact same message each day, word-for-word. Only the cover is different. I had hoped some of the text had been changed to make it a little more kid or teen friendly or even more applicable to her daily life. While I still think it is a good tool, I find that she comes to me and asks me to explain what something means, so it defeats the purpose of a devotional which in my opinion is something one does on their own. I will still search out something that she can do herself.
Good devotional, but teen edition, not teen edition

The one we ordered says teen edition, but the only thing we found to be different was the cover. Everything else was the same as the "adult" edition. A little misleading, and we were disappointed because it was to be a Christmas gift to a young teen girl.
I really enjoy Jesus Calling daily devotionals and was super excited to get my almost 16 year old daughter the teen edition! She has had past devotionals and they just didnt keep her attention because they were either not her experiences or she couldn't relate or understand. This one has her interest! She reads it and looks forward to share with me what was spoke to her. I really think it's the context of reading as if Jesus is really speaking to you... Why would you not listen? I've encouraged her to seek out the additional scriptures to help her understand God's word more. Awesome teen devotional! Great gift too!
