Since then, we've picked it up off and on, often using it in our morning time before school. The older my kiddos get, the more relevant these devotionals are to their life.
So when I had a chance to review Young's newest devotional, I was excited to get my hands on it. Right away, the author states that this book is all about Joy. And how many of us couldn't use more joy in our lives? Especially our kids as they're learning to manage their emotions and navigate life.
Written in a page a day style, the devotional runs from Jan 1 to Dec 31, but could be picked up at any time. That's what makes this book such a great addition to our morning time. Although the devotions work around a common theme, it doesn't hurt to miss one here and there. Each page is written as if the Lord were speaking to you personally. While this is hard to adjust to at first, it is quite comforting and very personal. Jesus Always is written to a third to seventh grade audience, but I even find myself learning and growing through this devotional. With the holidays coming up, this would make a wonderful gift or stocking stuffer.

Renee K5 Stars Out Of 5Jesus AlwaysSeptember 28, 2017Renee KQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Last year I was introduced to one of Sarah Youngs devotionals for kids. I was impressed by what I saw and have been enjoying going through it with my 14 year old daughter. I was delighted when I seen this new devotional. As soon as we are down with that one I already know that this will be next on my list for her.Sarah Young has several other books for both adults and kids.
This is a hardcover book with 400 pages. The book is a nice compact size to fit in a backpack or purse. The colors are perfect for a young girl with a lovely purple border and the text is inside a white background and is easy on the eyes. It also has a purple ribbon bookmark attached.
Each devotion page has a date on it starting January 1st through December 31st. I personally prefer devotions without the date on them. Life happens and I miss days. I know that part is going to drive my special needs daughter crazy if we are off on the date! We will most likely be reading several days worth if we get behind. That is a minor issue and my own personal pet peeve. The devotions are no more than 3 paragraphs.
The devotionals are practical and will open up some good conversations with my daughter. Each one will vary in the topics. Some of the titles are: I Have Always Known You, I Never Let Go, Have Courage, No Room For Bragging, and so many other heartfelt topics.
Each month starts out with just a scripture verse. I may be wrong but it looks like there are a few different scripture versions.
This would make a nice addition to add to your kids Bible time. It would also be a nice gift for someone special.
