Thrift Schooling5 Stars Out Of 5An Excellent First BibleOctober 1, 2016Thrift SchoolingQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5We told our children, when they were young, there was one reason why we were teaching them to read. Obviously reading is important, if not necessary, to survive in our culture but that is not the reason.
We want them to be successful individuals. Ones that will not simply survive but thrive in their communities. But that is not why we were teaching them to read.
Reading encourages the imagination and stimulates the brain in a way that mindless entertainment never can, this is just a bonus.
We flat out told our children, that they were to learn to read, so they could read the Bible. Plain and simple. The Word of God is what will stand when the world is on fire. When trials and troubles come, the Word of God will bring comfort, healing and hope.
Even in pre-reading days, we memorize Scripture, as a family to get the word of God in their little hearts. And, once they begin to read, we give them their very own Bible.
My two oldest have already reached this milestone. It has melted my heart to see them reading their Bibles on their own, seeking and learning on their own accord.
My daughter has been looking up to her brothers eagerly awaiting the day that she can have a Bible of her own, not just a storybook with Old Testament stories.
Well, the time has come. She is in the beginning stages of reading, and I found the perfect Bible to present to her.
The Beginner's Bible: Holy Bible in the King James Version, is everything that I hoped it would be as far as a first Bible goes. This Bible has large print, perfect for a beginning reader. It has the complete King James Version text and also includes full page illustrations throughout the book. It has a thick, solid cover that I hope will last many years to come. I look forward to this seeing her learn and grow with her first complete Bible!

SissySalisbury, NCAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful Bible for my grandsons!July 28, 2016SissySalisbury, NCAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I wanted to get my grandsons a Bible that would be easy to read and appealing to them at ages 7,6 & 3. I ordered each a Bible and had their name engraved. They loved the cover with their name and the picture on the cover was eye catching for them. We had a lesson on how to treat a Bible, where the table of contents was located, what red writing meant, etc.
I was very pleased with my purchases and my grandsons were delighted with their gifts.
WandaSDAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent Bible for a beginner.....August 15, 2012WandaSDAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I purchased this Bible for my 6 year old granddaughter. She loves it. Even though she is only a beginner reader she will grow into it. I help her with the words she doesn't know so she feels like she is reading it. She loves the pictures! She loves to study the Bible with her grandma. She practices her writing skills from copying the Scriptures!! The first thing she did was write I love you Jesus with a big heart after it. All in all this is a wonderful Bible, the font size is a very nice size, the outlines for each book is awesome, helps her understand what she will be learning, she adores the words in red by Jesus as she knows this is what Jesus is saying to her, and in the back of the Bible is a small concordance. This Bible is everything I was hoping for, and most importantly it is the KJV which I want her to learn the word of God from. I would highly recommend this Bible.

This Beginner's Bible is a red-letter edition with a larger font and very age-appropriate pictures for young children. It also has a brief introduction/background information at the beginning of each book, as well as a glossary in the back- -Just the right amount of 'helps' for young children. We are very happy with this product and would highly recommend it for a first 'real Bible' for elementary-aged children.
