Beware of Natural Explanations for Miracles

Example, Joshua 3:16: "This is springtime (see 4:19), and the melting snow from the Anti-Lebanon mountains often creates a flood stage for the Jordan. Mudslides as a result of flood waters undercutting the cliffs or from seismic activity occasionally interfere with the flow of the Jordan at the very place mentioned here in the text (once as recently as 1927). Those recorded have generally blocked the Jordan for a couple of days."

Granted, God might have used a mudslide with miraculous timing, but the bible clearly stated, "the waters coming down from above "stood and rose up in a heap" very far away, at Adam." Now shall we go with the pseudo-evangelical trend and explain that ancient authors often used exaggerated language to convey their points?

This book is trash! It is NOT a commentary on the OT in terms of exposition. It spends more time talking about other religions instead of focusing on Christian or Jewish sources! TRASH!

The commentary helped me right away. I was teaching VBS about the spies on Rahab's roof. The commentary gave a great description of the roofing material. It was written at a level that was easy to understand and was easy to relay the info to others. It's also helping me teach through the book of Joel. I like the unique perspective this commentary offers.
