Tell us a little about yourself. Before coming to Jesus in 1972, I was a radical leftist intellectual studying the occult and other religions. After He turned me around, I went to Bible college and began serving God in various areas, including personal counseling, teaching, writing articles for pastors, conservative political action, and missions. I've been a ditchdigger, pipefitter, utility supervisor, political officeholder, chaplain, beekeeper, and television producer.
What was your motivation behind this project? I saw a need for documenting some of the dramatic answers to prayer that our local intercessors & missons have experienced, all correlated with strategic concepts of spiritual warfare from a Scriptural standpoint.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Insights, personal instruction, and boldness in two primary arenas: Getting out the Gospel and restraining evil. Above all, that readers will surrender ideas that may be limiting their ability to learn from the Holy Spirit on how to work together within the will of God.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? The Holy Spirit inspired me to go much deeper into prayerful research in original languages, cultures, & current events. I have grown much bolder in word & deed, and look forward to more growth in understanding how God is miraculously moving through His people as we pray together.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Authors such as C. S. Lewis, Francis Schaeffer, and Don Gossett; teachers Rick & Denise Renner, and my close friends, the pastors of Bastrop Christian Outreach Center, are all sources of inspiration to me. Lynda, my wife of nearly 40 years, daily displays God's love & wisdom to me.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: These are the Last Days, and God sent the Holy Spirit to teach us not only how to live, but expressly how to get the Word of God out through our living examples, while restraining every attempt of the enemy to steal, kill, and destroy those that would otherwise be saved.
