This movie, "Is Genesis History" is a wonderful answer to the stuffed shirts in the scientific community who continue to push the flawed theory of Darwinism and all the other "theories" that are frantically put forth with the singular purpose of denying our Creator His unarguable patent rights and ownership to all Creation. The argument as to the "cause" of the creation event as set out in the Book of Genesis is one that goes right to the core of our beliefs. Humans have for centuries gazed at the star-filled sky and wondered . . . . "how did this all happen and what does it mean to me, one minuscule singular human living a finite life in this vast Universe?" The magnificence, omnipotence and extramundane nature of our mutual Creator speaks to all who live in His Kingdom - have eyes to see, ears to hear and a brain with which to contemplate. Why would we ever wonder or even dare to ask as to His existence and ability to create the Universe? Our skepticism serves to further expose our failings, our frantic desire to not live by His rules but make up our own - always flawed and always with sinful ends; and our ultimate falling from His Grace. Everywhere, from the micro to the macro - there is positive, undeniable proof of His authorship, hence His existence. His fingerprints are on every "created" thing and event. We were created by Him and for Him, and we will be judged by His Son, Jesus Christ, as is written in His Book. Casual spectators, ego-centric observers, and sin-loving Satan-worshippers will - up until the last nanosecond before the End of Times - refuse to acknowledge the obvious; they will live lives that serve no purpose and will continue to sway and promulgate their ignorance and, hence, their sin onto others. God said - "I AM". Oh, YES, He is! And He doesn't need to prove it.
Felt like this should've been titled "Does Science Support Genesis"

I really liked this documentary. It's much needed and I hope they'd expand on this with a follow up called "The Genesis Project." Much like the Truth Project. I was a bit disappointed where it actually talked about history.....no mention of the table of nations.....that those names are actually found in the historic record. The tower of babel evidence was just pottery. Other than that it was mainly scientific support for genesis, the flood, differences between primates and humans, created kinds. That part was great. This documentary covered to much to be real deep which is why I'd love to see a follow up series. This is worth owning for your collection and to pass out to friends.
Is Genesis History (IGH) is an excellent overview of how our world, including geology and fossils, reflects the events given in Genesis 1-11. Each subject is presented in an appropriate outdoor setting or in a museum or lab where the related work was done or objects are displayed. Several drone shots give wonderful vistas. Although the movie would be great for anyone to see, it is aimed at Christian audiences, not unbelievers. This is reflected in both the title and the order of the subjects. First a landscape is shown which is revealed to be recently created, then other geological formations are shown that display the effects of the flood. But then the movie moves to a paradigm discussion and analysis of the Genesis text, at which point I think you would start losing many unbelievers. Half the movie is over before the amazing information of soft dinosaur tissue and the complexity of DNA is presented. Also, I did not notice even a brief Gospel presentation.
Del Tackett interviews several PhD scientists including some either working at or retired from the major creationist organizations of Answers in Genesis(AIG), Creation Ministries International(CMI), or the Institute for Creation Research(ICR). At least one of the other speakers in the movie is an "old earth" creationist, although you cannot tell when watching the movie. Sometimes I think the conversation seems a little slow, but the amazing information and drone shots help to maintain interest. Tackett only has a few minutes per subject, so consider this DVD an introduction to often very extensive information.
For an atheist or dedicated evolutionist, I would instead recommend Evolution's Achilles' Heels (EAH). Robert Carter from CMI, who is featured in IGH, provided the overall concept and co-directed EAH. It addresses similar subjects, also from PhD scientists, in an order better suited for that audience, and spends more time on the effects of sin and the curse, which leads naturally to a brief but powerful gospel presentation. These two DVDs are the only single DVDs I know that covers many science subjects with several PhD scientists using Genesis as plain history, although ICR has a nice multi-DVD presentation titled Unlocking the Mysteries of Genesis.
