Publisher's Description
▼▲Now for the first time, through pictures and stories of ordinary people who heard the invitation and responded, we glimpse the breathtaking panorama of a seventy-year work of God on a scale no one could have imagined.
Here is the inspiring spiritual journey of hearts and souls encountering God through the ministry of Billy Graham. From despair to hope, from broken life to renewed spirit, Invitation tells each individual story within the visual context of the Crusade experience.
This new book of images and stories brings together never-before published stories of real people who responded to God’s invitation and as a result found their lives transformed and utterly turned around.
Created by Billy Graham’s grandsons, Basyle (“Boz”) and Aram Tchividjian, Invitation draws from www.thankyoubilly.com, a website designed to capture for all time the human impact of Graham’s crusades. Here, the stories poured in, from young and old, near and far–those who once were lonely, addicted, abandoned, sick, suicidal–all sharing how one invitation changed everything.
Designed around photographs, many never before seen, from the private Graham family collections and the archives of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Invitation has a place in every home, and is itself an invitation to all of us to experience the spiritual legacy of Billy Graham and the work of God in changing lives.

▼▲In 1934, Graham, a sixteen year old farm boy, gave his life to Christ. Later, as a student at Bible school, he felt a calling on his life to preach the gospel, a calling which he could not escape. Over the next seventy years, Billy Graham preached to over two billion people in 185 countries.
Invitation is a beautiful gift book, with dozens of pictures and testimonies recounting the faithfulness of God to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). Dr. Grahams message in all his years of ministry was simple, yet astounding: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever would believe in Him would not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). Thats it. This gospel message has the power to change lives, as is testified in story after story. Dr. Graham has simply been Gods conduit.
However, also noted in Invitation in the side-notes Billy Up Close, is the warmth and compassion of the preacher who always has time for people, and has a humbleness and friendliness that seem to surprise people.
At the end of this book, most appropriately, is an invitation. The gospel message is once again laid out, this time addressing the reader. Thats what makes this gift book such a great gift: any reader could see the hope offered by the Savior and realize that God so loved them. -- Tracey Bonsell, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com
