A canine search-and-rescue team find the missing link between disparate crimes that have authorities perplexed.
A local scientist misses his son's birthday party and turns up dead in Lake Superior. A radical environmental group blames a mysterious lab for dead fish found in a remote stream. Then an Alzheimer's patient goes missing and his home is ransacked.
Bree Nichols and her beloved search-and-rescue dog, Samson, pitch in to help investigate the events disrupting their small community. But new discoveries soon throw her shaky love life into tilt, dredge up her painful past, and threaten her family. Bree must dive deep for the faith to keep going, the strength to defend those she cares about, and the courage to keep her fearful heart open to love.

Patricia Waters5 Stars Out Of 5May 26, 2010Patricia WatersThis is an excellent book. Colleen Coble writes books that have some mystery, some romance, and always a lot of interesting situations.
Laurice Ulmer4 Stars Out Of 5December 12, 2009Laurice UlmerI really enjoyed this series, especially since I visited Houghton every year for over 15 years. Bree Nichols is a strong character, but gentle enought to receive help when needed. The stories are good and I had a hard time putting the books down.
Llibby Sykes5 Stars Out Of 5June 5, 2009Llibby SykesI was not surprised when I read this excellent book to find that it held me with the same interest and page turning desire as have all of Colleen Coble's books. The Lord has given her a mighty gift which she shares with all of us who have read most all her books. I am presently reading Abomination which is reading true to her excellent standard, as well. When I finish, I will be glad to give you a review of it. Thank you for this opportunity. God bless you, Coleen.
