"Into Abba's Arms" is a passionately written, biblical guide for spiritual intimacy with the God who calls Himself "the Father of the Fatherless." Author Sandra Wilson begins the journey by exploring the cavity in the human soul--a cavity that Augustine described as "God-shaped" and that I like to think of as "God-sized." "Why do we have a hole in our soul?" Wilson encourages us to ask. Like Augustine, she finds her answer in the biblical truth that we were created for an intimate relationship with the Creator of the universe. Wilson also follows in the steps of Martin Luther who insisted that Christian understand who they are in and to Christ. Or, as I like to summarize it, we must learn to "accept our acceptance" in Christ. She also travels the path of John Calvin, who taught that true knowledge consists of knowing God, knowing ourselves as bearers of God's image, and knowing how to relate to the God whose image we bear. Like Augustine, Luther, and Calvin, Wilson realizes that life is not about "self-acceptance for the sake of self-love," but rather about "acceptance in Christ for the sake of glorifying God and being empowered to minister to others." Through "Into Abba's Arm," Wilson leads you home to the home you always longed for--a home where Abba, Daddy, God the Father, is your most cherished Friend, and a home where you live the life you were intended to live from eternity past. Reviewer: Dr. Robert W. Kellemen is the author of "Soul Physicians: A Theology of Soul Care and Spiritual Direction," "Spiritual Friends: A Methodology of Soul Care and Spiritual Direction," and the forthcoming "Sacred Companions: A History of Soul Care and Spiritual Direction."

I highly recommend this book if you've experienced any type of emotional, physical or sexual abuse--or know someone who has.

Perhaps in a few years I could give a more introspective review of this excellent book, Into Abba's Arms. At this point, my emotions get the better of me. Mostly, I feel gratitude to Ms Wilson for exposing her pain and her gracious willingness to share her walk toward healing.

Wilson gave voice, identity and substance to the pain that had only been a vague sadness in my life. She has given practical, meaningful steps for healing which ultimately places that healing into the hands our our loving Abba (Daddy).

We belong. I belong. Such a simple message that carries the heart of our Heavenly Father. Thank you, Sandra Wilson.

Every Christian who has been saved for 20+ years needs to read this book. So many times we are scared to death of God and we don't realize how much He really loves us. Awesome!

This book is really neat. Not only does it walk you through finding ultimate acceptance and relational security in God, your Abba Father, it teaches you how to use many of the Spiritual Disciplines from a well-balanced, evangelical perspective. If you have struggled with rejection or a feeling that you are not accepted, this book is one you MUST have.
