Judith A. Mixell5 Stars Out Of 5December 18, 2008Judith A. MixellThis is an excellent resource book for serious students of the Bible. It explains the meaning of what is being said; what is taking place at the time the particular passage was written, etc.

Cindy Taylor5 Stars Out Of 5September 14, 2002Cindy TaylorThis commentary gives enough technical/theological information to help a lay teacher understand passages. "Gray" areas of theology are not debated. When teaching, if you prefer an educated, systematic and complete understanding of the scriptures without losing the meaning in all of the questions, this is the commentary for you.

Padunkiaet5 Stars Out Of 5February 26, 2007PadunkiaetI have been searching for what is/are the best one volume commentaries in the market and I finally found them already. The first one is Baker commentary on the Bible edited by Elwell. The second one is this very book. Highly recommend and you will never be disappointed.

Ed5 Stars Out Of 5Bible Commentary--a perfect titleNovember 25, 2020EdI've only been reading this for a couple of weeks, but what I have read has clarified details about so many suspicions, putting more and more doubts to rest. I'm also reading "The Creators" by Daniel Boorstin, and the information has dovetailed almost daily with information in the "Commentary" echoing or supporting information in "The Creators." It's a delightful co-read. Both writers have done their research.
