Product Description

This collection of short passages from the writings of Karl Barth (1886-1968) reflects on the life of Christian faith. Eberhard Busch, Barth's last assistant, has expertly conveyed the kernel of Barth's faith with these brief excerpts. He writes: "Insights for looking within oneself or for looking beyond. Insights for taking a deep breath, for reflecting, for being amazed, for smiling, for questioning. Insights for looking upward and for stepping forward, for gathering courage, and for being content. Karl Barth invites and stimulates such insights."

These one-page selections capture the vibrancy of Barth's faith, communicating his sense of wonder and excitement. Each piece is related to a verse of Scripture, making this an ideal book for daily devotional reading and a variety of other occasions.
