Author/Artist Review

Author: Jim Vanderburg
Located in: North Richland Hills, TX
Submitted: July 25, 2015

Tell us a little about yourself.  I am retired from the U. S. Navy and corporate America. I am an ordained minister and a lay pastor at Gateway Church, North Richland Hills, TX campus. My wife and I lead our campus seniors group and I am a deacon on my campus. I have been married for almost 49 years. We have two daughters, six grandchildren and four great grand children.

What was your motivation behind this project?  My study of 1 Peter begin with teaching it at our January Bible study in 1982. I continued to study and teach 1 Peter. I took my notes to write "In View of a Harvest". I feel that Peter's message is relevenant to the American believer today.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  My hope and prayer is the folks reading this book will be encouraged to identify with who they are in Jesus Christ. With their identity with Jesus believers will be able to walk through whatever difficulties life presents to them.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  My expectation is that whatever I must walk through in my sojourn here, I know that He walks with me. I know, understand and comprehend that I am one of His seeds sown where I am in view of His harvest. Each life on this earth has a purpose in God's kingdom.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  My wife and my pastors, Robert Morris and Byron Copeland are great influences in my life. My sources of inspiration include my relationship to Jesus Christ, the Bible, and worship and praise with the saints of God.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  My priority in my relationships begin with God being first. After God my relationship with my wife is next followed by my children and other family members.
