I LOVED Karen's new book IN THIS MOMENT! I could not put it down because it was so good. I loved how she incorporated the Baxter family (my favorite fictional family) into her book as well. This story with a religious controversial aspect could not come at a better time in today's society. I can't recommend Karen Kingsbury and her books enough! 5 stars! -Madelyn

Working in the educational field for as many years as I have, I can relate to Karen Kingsbury's newest novel, "In This Moment," all too well. This story is so relevant and will open your eyes to the rapidly changing world we now live in! I loved how the Baxter Family was incorporated throughout the story, as well as Aspyn the angel from KK's Angels Walking Series. I highly encourage you to read this book! It is so powerful and inspirational!! I could go on and on, but trust me when I say... this book is a MUST READ!!! And once you start reading it, you won't be able to put it down! Seriously, it's that good!

Not only does Karen bring back the Baxter family but she brings up a very timely subject, separation of church and state. That said, this is a stand alone book and you don't need to have read any of the Baxter family books to enjoy this. This book focuses on the youngest Baxter sibling, Luke, who is a lawyer. He ends up taking on a case that he feels he might not be able to win. The case involves a principal who, after trying every means at his disposal, starts a voluntary after-school Bible study in hopes of changing the downward spiral of the students at this school. The results are amazing but a parent brings a lawsuit against the principal. Not only is this a riveting story, but many "misconceptions" that people have in today's society are brought up and answered.

Love the way that this book is written with the introduction of new characters along with the beloved characters we have always loved. The meaning and story are so relevant to the times we are facing and so realistic. A great and easy to read book!

Quite an interesting read full of current issues surrounding Christianity. The research for this book must have been quite extensive and time consuming. A little bit of romance and suspense thrown in with some gang violence issues and its affect on education. I loved the personal stories included but I felt like most of the book was technical in nature. There was a lot of talk about law and court room stuff. I felt like it was a bit of overkill and I wanted more of the character relationship. It was a little out of balance for my liking. It was almost like I had to question whether I was reading for pleasure or for information, whether it was a fiction or nonfiction book. It was super interesting all the current event type law stuff but just wasnt what I was hoping for in a fiction book. Overall the storyline was pretty good. I enjoyed the book but had to give it 4 stars instead of 5 because of these things mentioned.

I received a digital copy from netgalley in exchange for my honest review. I was in no way obligated to leave a positive review.
