I am currently going through this as part of a men's study & I'm very disappointed. While there are good applications here & there as well as some thoughtful insight, Lucado goes way over the top in imagination & conjecture. At times some of the leaps he makes in trying to make a biblical point based on artistic license borders on unbiblical.

If you want to lead a Bible study on men that sticks more closely to what scripture says, please look elsewhere. If you desire a more shallow study with much artistic license, this is the book for you.

Excellent study guide. We did the 10 Women of the Bibke and then The Ten Men of the Bible. We. loved bith of them!

great study to use as a daily study or as a weekly study. i tend to do each day on a weekly basis. the thoughts and questions make you think about whats going on in their life as well as your own.

Our class is thru 8 men of the 10 men study. A great study. We are a mixed age, singles and couples class averaging better than 20 persons even thru the summer months. A wonderful review of each man with new info or at least "nuggets" here and there. We started out with the suggested one man per Sunday but found there was too much discussion and subject matter for that approach. So, we opted to go on a one day per Sunday basis. A much better pace. Permits more discussion on all of the questions rather than trying to glean a few here and there to cover the man in one lesson. Although at perhaps $14 or so per copy works out about the same or less than what we had been paying for 3,4 or more study guides each of a shorted duration

Max Lucado has hit a home run with this new bible study! His words draw pictures in your mind and at times cause smiles and laughter from your lips. He takes characters of the bible and brings forth a virtue, or lack of one in their life, to practical ways in our everyday life now. He truly shows how God used imperfect people to change the world and brings forth such encouragement that we can do the same today. The study is ten weeks, one bible character each week, with five days of reading and questions for each week. The daily work involves about 20-30 minutes each day with plenty of room to answer questions in the workbook. When our small group meets, discussion flows. There seems to always be new revelations each week and insight into a bible character not previously known or even thought about. This study could be recommended for couples, men or women groups, and even an individual study. Grand Slam!
