We've been collecting this series on ebook since they were first released and they're a big hit among my adventure-loving crew! Mama especially appreciates that they can have fun with an immersive reading experience that also spurs them to excitedly dive deeper into their Bible reading. The combination of fiction and biblical history is a powerful and inspiring tool to spark interest and create an emotional connection with these beloved Bible adventures. This is a solid middle-grade story full of excitement and truth.

Imagine The Miracles of Jesus by Matt Koceich is a good read; however, I was expecting more scenes involving Jesus. John Le is a 12 year old boy on a plane headed for Las Vegas, Nevada when he is suddenly transported back to Biblical times right in the middle of Jesus asking the disciples if they caught any fish! Throughout the book Jesus shows up here and there but not to the extent I expected. John faces evil in many forms as he learns to have faith in Jesus. The ending leaves me wanting to see what is in store for the next book. I would recommend this book but keep in mind some of the scenes are a little scary for younger readers as evil is portrayed as a dragon, snake and a lion chasing John.

Imagine: The Miracles of Jesus by schoolteacher Matt Koceich is a chapter book geared towards kids 8-12. Twelve-year-old John Li is on a flight home to Nevada when the plane gets caught in a bad storm and he awakens to find himself in ancient Israel. I have read every book in the Imagine series so far and this one has left me somewhat disappointed, as had the previous one before this one. I was really excited to get this new book, thinking it would concentrate a lot on Jesus and the miracles he performed; however, it didn't have very much at all about Jesus, just brief meetings with Him. I did find the theme of faith being stronger than fear to be a great one. John is chased by a dragon, a snake, and a lion which might be somewhat scary for younger readers, and memories of mean things said to him by his father come to John's mind a few times so be aware of that when deciding who to purchase this book for.

Miracles are supernatural happenings. Imagine what it would have been like to witness the awesome miracles of Jesus! In this new book, Matt Koceich gives his readers an opportunity to imagine just that.

John Le is a young man whose world seems out of control. His sketches of lotus flowers help him and his mother remember Jesus, but John can't get past the turmoil in his life. While he is flying home, the turbulence in the air mathes the turbulence at home and John asks God why there is no break in all of this. But then, he wakes up by the Sea of Galilee and gets the opportunity to witness some of Jesus' miracles. Can his "experience" help him trust more that God knows what He isdoing? Young readers everywhere will enjoy the story and find ways to apply trust in their own lives.

I really enjoyed this book, just as I have enjoyed the others in this series. I love buying these for the young readers in my life and am building a library for my grandchildren. I recommend this whole series to families everywhere and am thankful to the publisher for my review copy. The review is totally my thoughts and words.
