In Imagine . . . The Great Flood by Matt Koceich, 10-year-old Corey chases his dog Molly into the woods and falls and hits his head. That and the searing pain is the only thing that he can remember before he finds himself face-to-face with two lions as he realizes that he is living through a monumental biblical event---the Great Flood. "Imagine: The Great Flood" is a short, quick read. Combining a time-travel adventure with Biblical history, Koceich crafts an inspirational story for young readers, drawing parallels between the two. The tale opens in modern-day Texas, where ten-year-old Corey Max is having a hard time dealing with an upcoming move that his family will be making to Florida. He suddenly finds himself immersed in ancient Mesopotamia, where preparations for Noah's ark are almost complete. However, powerful opposition threatens to interrupt the project and bring harm to Noah's family. As Corey works together with Noah's sons, he comes to understand similarities to his own situation and wonders if he will ever have a chance to get back home. Although this is a short book, it packs plenty of action and lessons about trusting God into its pages, making it a great choice for kids.

Imagine the great flood author has done one magnificent job on retelling the story of Noah and the way that Inbetweeners and could fall in love with it and so could fall in love with it and also learn a lesson on other subjects too. I loved it when he arrived in the was time and there he was standing face-to-face with the lion and Lioness man was he scared and I would have been praying so hard just like he was and guess what happened well I'm not going to tell you you have to read it for yourself. It is so worth it believe me . I received a copy of this book from the Publisher and Netgalley; all the opinions expressed in this review are all my own .

A very readable and engaging book. The targeted audience is 8-12 year olds, but I am an adult woman and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Ten year old Corey is struggling with the fact that he and his family are about to move from Galveston, Texas to Clearwater, Florida. He is worried and anxious about many things, including starting in a new school and making new friends. Corey has no idea how amazingly God is going to teach him to trust and obey.

While still in Galveston, Corey falls and hits his head while chasing after his dog. Everything goes dark and Corey awakens right in the middle of an epic Old Testament adventure...the great flood.

Corey met and interacted with Noah and his sons. He also enjoyed close encounters with many of the wild animals.

Along with Noah's family, he was caught up in the struggles between good and evil forces. Corey was able to learn many lessons from the time he spent in Noah's world. He was able to carry these lessons back to Galveston and then on to Clearwater. Corey learned that God can do anything.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

My 11 year son read this book. He really enjoyed it. We took turns reading the book together. It was a great book to read together as family time. You could also read it together then talk about the story of the flood in the Bible.

This book really held my son's attention. He read it in just a few days.

I highly recommend this book to kids!

*I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. No positive review was required. My opinion is honest and is my own.
