God has already given you the power to create your own future you just need to learn how to use it. The Power of God-Given Imagination awakens the dreamer within you by unveiling this incredible gift and explaining its quiet necessity in your life. No faith has ever sprouted and no prayer has ever been prayed without the use of imagination. For too long the power of imagination has been associated with New Age mysticism or the secular realm of positive thinking. Ray McCollum defies this trend by demonstrating that the power of the human mind and imagination belongs to the churchand God expects us to use it. Within the pages of this book, you will discover exactly what the power of imagination is, how it works, and how you can use it to both transform your personal life and transform the culture around you by releasing the kingdom of God.
Ray McCollum came to the Lord in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1971 while working in radio broadcasting. In 1975, he moved to Nashville, where he eventually started an advertising company. A friend who managed a local Christian radio station offered Ray fifteen minutes each day to teach the Bible, and the success of that program led him to start a Bible study that eventually grew into a church plant. In 1984, he sold his company and became pastor of Bethel World Outreach Center, where he ministered for sixteen years. In 2000, he resigned from the church to travel the world teaching the Bible. In 2009, Ray and his son planted Celebration Church in the Nashville area.

It sports an interesting white cover with an I made out of orange and burnt orange origami birds. Some are flying away while others are just stacked up to make the imaginative I. This is the first thing I have read by McCollum. His writing style is nice. Thoughts were well thought and organized. He provided footnotes to clarify certain items. It was a well written book.
This book urges readers to dig deeper for a God given gift we may have not even realize we have or has long been buried, the gift of imagination. This gift is much more than one realizes. Providing many biblical examples and stories this book is definitely biblically based. God is mentioned even in the title. Scripture is not sprinkled in this book but liberally poured on. You will find it everywhere in this Christian Life/Inspirational book. Author McCollum uses quotes throughout his book from famous people such as Walt Disney, Eleanor Roosevelt, Yogi Berra and Albert Einstein to name a few. These quotes will be good for encouragement in the future.
"The Power of a God-Given" Imagination" is about hope, dreams, and a future. We have all been created with an instinct to imagine author McCollum writes. We can envision a better place or world. His book is about discovering the power within ourselves to dream, imagine, and change the world around us for the better. He helps readers with this in his book through chapters and sections such as "Partnering with God," "Seven Guidelines for God-Given Imagination," and "Serving the Purpose of God in Your Generation". Stressing to pray, seek God's will, ask Him for help, and to remember that God blesses you to be a blessing are some of McCollum's tips to encourage readers in their quest.
This is definitely a thought provoking book. I would recommend it. I rated it a 4 out of 5 stars. I received a copy of this book from The Book Club Network in exchange for my honest review.

***** 5 Stars
The author, Ray McCollum, explains about the origination of ideas in the mind as being the "first creation." The implementation of those ideas is the "second creation." Never is a known creation without the two steps to becoming a made thing. I have never considered this before. I appreciated the author's insights to help me understand that if a person is open to hearing from God at the "first creation" level in the mind, that miracles can result based on yielding to God's ideas (aligned with His word).
Many secular books have addressed the attitude of if you can dream it then you can make it happen. The author, early on before becoming a Christian, found this type of book to be inspiring and motivating. But later he realized God was not included in those books, and that the imagining could be used for evil causes.
I am thankful for the examples given of when people align their desires and their dreams with God's word. You will want to read of the resulting miracles documented. You will feel hopeful about what God can do with and through you.
The book addresses the cessationist point of view that the Holy Spirit is no longer active with signs and wonders in this modern age. It offers scriptural references to support the author's conclusions. This discussion in the book will enlighten those unfamiliar with the doctrine and how it has affected many modern churches.
I am thankful to the author, publisher, and bookfun.org for giving me this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review. Christians worldwide need to read and act based on the information in this positive book. You, Christian, can be inspired to let God into your "first creation" process to be a part of His kingdom building plans for "on earth as it is in heaven."

From the back cover: God has already given you the power to create your own futureyou just need to learn how to use it.
The Power of GodGiven Imagination is about awakening the dreamer within you. It demystifies the power of imagination and shows how we all instinctively use this power without realizing it. It shows how faith and prayer cannot operate without imagination.
Author Ray McCollum also debunks the false notion that the power of the mind, the imagination, and dreaming takes one into New Age mysticism or the secular realm of positive thinking. The power of the human mind belongs to the church, and God expects us to use it.
Within the pages of this book, you will discover exactly what this power is, how it works, and how you can use it to both transform your personal life and transform the culture around you by releasing the kingdom of God.
Someone sees the potential in you, sits down with you and tells you the truth that you can do such and so a thing: writing books, starting a company, flying planes. At the time that you are told that you can do this activity you are not however you believe this person is telling you the truth. Now the imagination in your mind kicks into high gear and you imagine the books or the company or whatever and then it happens. It started out with the truth that you could do a thing, you believed that truth, then you imagined what it would be like doing that thing and then, lo and behold, it winds up you doing it all because you imagined it. It is the same way with The Father. He has told us The Truth in His Word. All it takes is us to believe what He is telling us and then use our God-given imagination to make what He has said happen. That is the whole purpose of the book to help us see what The Father has been telling us, believe what we have been told and then use this new foundation to accomplish what we have been gifted to do to change the world around us. I recommend it highly! I recommend it as a gift for friends and family so that they can find their purpose as well.

We are created in God's image. our prayers create. God created this world with His words. He wants us to co-create with Him through prayer.
Jesus said He only did what He 'saw' His Father do (John 5:19). The Father would show Him on the inside what He was doing or wanted to do on the outside. Hearing God's voice can come in the form of a picture. As we get direction (see) and act on it, we can co-create with God.
Our imagination can be used for wrong motives too. Love is one of the determining factors or guidelines that can help us discern whether an image or dream is within the will of God.
Always keep in mind that finding and serving the purpose of God involves a motivation to love and serve others.

Mrs ARS5 Stars Out Of 5Just ImagineMarch 16, 2016Mrs ARSQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The Power of a God-Given Imagination took back the concept of imagination that New Age thinking had run away with, and brought it again into submission to Christ. This book explored the Biblical foundation of imagination, by which God created everything, including us- and since we were made in Gods image, we too possess the power of imagination. Of course, that imagination is a great gift, but it can be corrupted and used to glorify self over God; yet it can also be a great weapon against evil if used properly. This book contained many profound truths that I had never really thought of and opened my eyes to just how important imagination is and how influential it can be. A must read for everyone. I received a copy for review from The Book Club Network, Inc. and the opinions are my own.
