HORRIBLE - I Cannot Believe CHRISTIAN Book Distributors Sells & Promotes This!!!!!
May 23, 2015
Okay, so this is the 2nd movie Christian Book Distributors has let us down by promoting and selling. What kind of a standard is used in their criteria of what comprises a CHRISTIAN movie????? This girl dresses VERY inappropriately. In almost every outfit, her cleavage is showing, and her dresses are extremely short, leaving very little to the imagination. She dresses like a prostitute and the total opposite of a church girl, let alone a CHRISTIAN. She doesn't even want to be called by the title of Christian and tells her boyfriend that she prefers to be called a "woman of faith". SERIOUSLY???? Are we forgetting WHO it is we are supposed to be serving???? Ashamed to be called Christian in a so-called Christian movie??? We just could not believe our eyes and ears. This movie does NOT present our dear Lord in a positive light at all, but brings a total reproach upon His holy name. ALCOHOL is promoted and glamorized all throughout, which just really, really disappointed us. While I was thankful she stood her ground concerning sex before marriage, the message she sent by exposing her body and the consistent alcohol consumption overpowered any good she was trying to convey. This movie sends the WRONG message to viewers about what Biblical holiness is all about. You can't just put filth out there for people to look at and throw in a little bit about God and call it "Christian". Our husbands, sons, fathers, and Christian brothers are bombarded with trashy dress in all the world around us. They should not be tempted by lustful, provocative dress in a so-called "Christian" movie or environment. I don't care how low the standards of the world are compromised. God's Word and demands for righteousness will never diminish, and to call this movie Christian, while filling it with the things He is against is just plain wrong and the height of hypocrisy. If you are a true Christian, DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE. We couldn't even watch it all, and we were constantly having to keep our son from hearing or seeing the scenes. If it is not clean enough for him to watch it, it is not worthy of being shown in our Christian home. We are just sickened over this, and we are re-evaluating whether we can continue to please God by patronizing Christian Book Distributors. They obviously have lost their way on what Christian really means.
I agree with the other reviewers to a point. I do think that the attire that the girl wore was inappropriate for a Christian. I say rent the movie first. I enjoyed it because God can change anyone. The girl did not change the guy but God did. The girl made it very clear that she was not going to have sex with him until they were married. The girl's parents talked to the young man and bought him a bible. He read it when he was alone, which said to me he wanted to know God. His parents were Christians. What if a person did not have time for us because we were not Christians when they met us? He had a heart to change and I believe that is where it starts. In my opinion, it was good because it was what God was able to do. As a parent, watch it first and decide if you want your child to view it. It would probably be more appropriate for teenagers .There are some good messages in the movie.
I had read some reviews and was looking forward to watching this movie. I was very disappointed. It sends the wrong message in regards to dating. I was not happy with the "church girl's" wardrobe. Yes I understand that now a days girls do wear shorter length in clothing, but this went too far. Her clothing is not what resembled a church girl. When she started dating the boy, their dates were not appropriate. definitely sends the wrong message to girls.
Do not even rent this movie. Very poor values and disappointing. I was under the impression by the reviews and listening on the radio being advertised that it was something good.
In the Bible it talks about not being unequally yoked and in this movie they made it seem no big deal. He was not saved and this Christian girl was dating him. Some of there dates were at night clubs with drinking and woman dressed in low-cut tops.
Also as believers we should dress modestly. This Christian girl dressed in low-cut tops and very short dresses.
This movie was just horrible. Acting and dialogue. Don't waste your time like I did.
