Diana5 Stars Out Of 5Beautifully written and illustrated. This will become a classic retelling for all ages!February 27, 2022DianaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This Little Pilgrims Progress is approx. 300 pages, well written and beautifully illustrated. An adult will want to read this version to most children because it is filled with many characters and stays true to Bunyan's original. There are 93 small chapters between part 1 (Christian's story) and part 2 (Christiana's story). The story flows smoothly throughout both sections.
The illustrations are incredible and bring the story to life with intricate detail. They aren't cheap, sloppy, quickly copied graphics. They are the most beautiful drawings I have seen in a long time. The author couldn't have chosen a better artist! The heroes are drawn gallantly, the bad guys are scary, and a little bird follows you throughout the story.
If you enjoy beautifully illustrated, well written children's books, and understand the message found in Pilgrims Progress, then I kindly suggest purchasing this book to add to your family library. I look forward to many quiet evenings with my grandchild on my lap reading a chapter or two at a time which will honestly take a good month. I hope this becomes a movie series for children because as I was reading I could envision the characters, as drawn in action. Absolutely fantastic, and I have already purchase another as a gift for a friend.. -
Heidi, mother of 35 Stars Out Of 5Perfect for the familyAugust 27, 2021Heidi, mother of 3We are thoroughly enjoying reading through this as a family. We love that the characters are animals and the illustrations are beautiful. The sections aren't too long, and the kids often want to hear two before bed. My 9-year-old couldn't wait and read through the entire book on her own and is back to listening with the family. We will definitely share this!

Swan5 Stars Out Of 5AstonishingFebruary 15, 2023SwanQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5First a note that this is the same as "Little Pilgrims Progress" but with beautiful illustrations geared toward a younger demographic and bound in a large hardcover. Textbook size hardcover. Pilgrims progress is the first half, the second half of the book is Christiana - essentially a sequal.
Our family read this alloud. We have read a handful of books aloud - but this was the first that Husband, Wife, 6 year old and 4 year old all desperately enjoyed. My four year old figured out the allegory, which I found astonishing.
It is an ancient classic story - but made so accessible for modern families with the gorgeous artwork depicting the characters as animals helping our children to follow along.
We will read this again and again. Heirloom quality book for a classic story that has held through 20 generations. -
