2 stars. 'Blackstocks latest suffers from an extreme amount of telling due to the first-person point of view. This never allows the reader to fully engage in the action. In addition, there is a far-fetched side storyline involving a missing girl that is just too contrived. Casey is an intriguing character, and further novels in the series may deepen and develop her into someone more believable.'
Crystal4 Stars Out Of 5Danger & Suspense GaloreJune 15, 2017CrystalQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Casey Cox is running for her life. She's been accused of brutally stabbing her best friend and is in hiding until she can prove her innocence. After receiving a mysterious package from her deceased friend, Casey believes that dirty cops are behind both his murder and her father's. Meanwhile, Dylan Roberts has returned from his deployment oversees to learn that his childhood friend, Brent, was murdered and that Casey is the primary suspect. Brent's parents hire Dylan to track down Casey and bring her home so justice can be served. But the more Dylan investigates the murder himself and gets push back from the detectives working the case, the more inconsistencies he finds. Although he's on the hunt for Casey, Dylan questions if she's Brent's real killer.
Blackstock presents readers with a thrilling and intense page-turner in If I Run. Danger follows Casey everywhere she hides. Readers are given bits and pieces to the mystery of Brent's murder along the way creating additional suspense. The alternating first-person accounts of the drama provide a unique prospective. I felt however, that the "Laura Daly" point of the plot was a little out of place. Rather convenient that Casey happened to see that newspaper in the background of the photo....and what would possess her to investigate Frank's house based on something seemingly so insignificant? If it wasn't the vehicle used to get Casey and Dylan's paths to cross, I would just say that Casey had a very active imagination. It seemed that this part of the story was only added to give the reader something more to digest. Overall, If I Run provided a good foundation for this series full of danger and excitement.

Sarah OCaliforniaAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Super good readMay 3, 2017Sarah OCaliforniaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Casey is on the run and she has some secrets that could get those close to her killed. Can she uncover the truth before its to late? Dylan is home from the military and is suffering from PTSD. He is looking for a job and when he is approached to find his best friends killer. When he starts to uncover some secrets he wonders if there is more to all of this then meets the eye?
I will start off saying this is NOT a romance book. This book is told in a first person narrative by both people. This book is on the edge of your seat hard to put down kind of books. The author throws twist and turns in the story through out. The way the story was written was well however the way the story starts off leaves you confused at first until it starts to truly play out. The story does end in a cliff hanger which I hate because I so want to know what happens but in a good way that means there is more to the story and there is more to play out. I can't wait to read more about Casey and hopefully Dylan. This book is worth the read and if you have never read anything by Terri Blackstock grab some of her other books they are sooo good.

This story is told in two distinctive voices. One is Casey Coxs who is wanted for the murder of her friend and the other voice is Private Investigator Bent Pace.
Casey is fleeing from a crime scene with all of her DNA. She is in flight and panic mode. Her instincts are to flee and protect herself at all costs. As we get to know more of the story, we realize there is more to what has happened in Caseys life and at the scene.
Bent Pace was hired by the victims family to track down and bring back Casey. As Bent digs further into Casey and her past, he discovers things are not adding up.
The one thing I did not like about this story: I didnt like that it was very cookie cutter. Everything they spoke of was very detailed, to me it was too detailed. It was so step-by-step to the point I was bored at times. I was surprised that there was not any romance aspect to the book. Although the book was detailed, it does tend to be fast-paced. I am interested in reading the next book since this one was left at a cliff-hanger.
I receive complimentary books for review from publishers, publicists, and/or authors, including Netgalley. I am not required to write positive reviews. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.
MFurAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5WOW OH WOW!March 6, 2017MFurAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Wow... This book is so packed from the very first to the last page. It will leave you breathless! I have never read a whole book in one day, but this one I did. I couldn't put it down. There is so much that happens, it's fast paced, suspenseful, and had great dialog. There's some sweet moments too, and through it all the author brings hope in the face of trials. That hope is from God. There's a bit of a cliffhanger so I know we'll hear more about Casey and her fight to find justice. I can't wait to read the next in this series!
