Author Bio

Make Believe Ideas, Ltd. is a publishing company focused on producing exciting, interactive books that both inspire and encourage children to learn and develop. Many of the Make Believe titles include sensory elements that are educational and playful.

Clare was born and raised in Hertfordshire, before moving to Leicester where she obtained a BA Hons Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration at De Montfort University. Having graduated, Clare worked for many years in the Greetings Card industry, designing cards, running a studio, product managing and running up and down a lot of stairs.

Now working as a freelance illustrator, she can usually be found working from home in her slippers, drinking too much coffee and daydreaming out of the window.

She works in collage, paint, pen and ink, and anything else she can find, and loves nothing more than finding a funky new fabric she can use in her designs.

Some of her influences include Quentin Blake, Eric Carle, Judith Kerr, Han Solo, and of course her children. She still lives in Leicestershire with her partner, two daughters and their two crazy cats.
