Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  Born and raised in Louisiana. Worked in the federal government for 20 years. I am a law enforcement officer in Virginia. I write music and fiction. I live in Shenandoah County, Virginia where I fly fish, cut firewood and enjoy nature.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I have always been interested in the story of the three people Jesus raised from the dead: Lazarus, the daughter of Jarius, and the son of the widow from Nain. I had my own experience as a child with a serious illness, during which I was visited by an angel. That angelic visit has always been in the back of my mind and I decided the time was right to put my story about Lazarus out there for others to read and hopefully enjoy. This is book one of four planned. Book one starts with the death and resurrection of Lazarus and ends shortly after the crusades, about 1200 AD.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I hope they enjoy the adventures that Lazarus, Sarah and Elan (Sarah and Elan are not named in the bible, I made up those names) experience as they grow christianity and begin collecting the material; letters by the apostles, etc., and construct the bible as we know it. It is of course, fiction, so I have created the entire world after their resurrections and tried to make their stories interesting, and at times, very challenging.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  It helped strengthen my faith in God. I grew up Pentecostal, immersed in the bible, and writing this book only solidified my love for my creator and his son.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  I was stunned by the "Left Behind" series, and was an early reader of every book LaHaye and Jenkins wrote. I have always thought that the Christian fiction world needed something other than the soft romance novels that seem to be a large part of that landscape. There is action, battles with the forces of evil, death, near misses and drama in "I Am Lazarus" that I hope my readers appreciate and enjoy.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  If you like my book, I would love a review! If you haven't read "I Am Lazarus" then I hope what I've typed here makes you curious. It's a great story, one that isn't finished yet! Thank You, and I know you will enjoy it.
