Lisa A.2 Stars Out Of 5December 5, 2007Lisa A.My heart goes out to the author. The Bible says that adultery is sin. Many other authors are quoted in this book, but not many Scriptures are used to deal with the actual repeated adultery. What about 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8, Colossians 3:1-6, 1 Corinthians 5:9-11, and 1 Corinthians 6:9? Adultery is a choice that has EVERYTHING to do with a person's relationship with Jesus Christ. If you are looking for a book to help you deal Biblically with your spouse's sexual sin, this is not it. Every Heart Restored by Fred and Brenda Stoeker and Stephen Arterburn is a better choice.
Jill Shook5 Stars Out Of 5January 6, 2007Jill ShookI didnt want to put this book down. It was engaging and surprisingly relevant to anyone. Yet, by listening to Townsend and Cloud on their New Life radio program, and hearing of the popularity of their Every Mans Battle workshop, I would say that sadly, sexual addiction is common. One friend didnt know it was possible to be addicted to sex. And one pastor said the same. The awareness of this addiction must be raised and how it is destroying families, as well as the hope for healing. This book does both. I found My Husband Has a Secret quite practical at the skill development level, for example, the how to's of active listening and why that form of communication is so essential. I have shared this book with a number of friends and some of my students. They have described it with words like "compelling" "empowering" "sad but hopeful." Others have wondered if this couple is still together after what they have gone through. I had the joy of speaking with Molly Ann, the author, and she and Timothy today enjoy a very strong marriage and their children are all have a strong faith in Christ. God has obviously brought much healing to this family. This book is a witness of the power and love of God when God's principles for life are followed.
Terry Carter5 Stars Out Of 5December 10, 2006Terry CarterThough I have not experienced the particular problem that the book addresses, Ms. Miller's insights are clear and helpful in so many areas of life. I have worked on co-dependency issues for several years and grown a lot, but she has made certain recovery concepts more clear and simple than anyone else I have ever read!
