Tell us a little about yourself. J. Otis Ledbetter, D.Min. resides in Clovis, California with his wife Gail, where he is an author, conference speaker, and the Senior Pastor of Sonrise Baptist Church. He is Chairman of the Board of Heritage Builders Global, a ministry in partnership with other national ministries, and a cooperative network of families and churches committed to passing a solid heritage to the next generation. He earned his Doctor of Ministry at Liberty University Theological Seminary.
What was your motivation behind this project? As a pastor, many would tell me they read their Bible, they pray, they attend church and give to ministry, but they are still stymied in their Spirit walk. They have even studied the works of the flesh and fruit of the Spirit and any correlation does not make sense. "What are the Spirit and the flesh warring over? Certainly not my soul. That has been taken care of!"
They needed the practical answers this book gives.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I want you to encounter a fresh and practical experience of how to understand what the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit war over. What is the common ground. Where is ground zero where the endless battle takes place, and how to win that war! Fruit of the Spirit and the works of the flesh. The two lists seem to be opposites with some great impassible gulf fixed between them. Yet both lists offer answers. Two sides, each challenging the other over common ground, yet yielding opposing outcomes.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? This book is the culmination of a 10 year study project. The information inside the book changed my life forever.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Everyone has a dominant hunger they consistently attempt to feed. And feeding it keep you from a solid Spiritual walk with God. the problem is most of us do not know how to identify that hunger. I have provided two ways to find your dominant hunger. There is a 27 question evaluation included in the book. Answer the questions and immediately know which hunger you are trying to feed. That is information you need in order to walk freely in the Spirit!
