Strickly ScienceSan Antonio, TXAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5This is a beautiful new editionSeptember 30, 2013Strickly ScienceSan Antonio, TXAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I was very sad to see that Dr. Wile's name is no longer on the text, but his writing is still intact. This text underwent a much needed graphic overhaul and we're finding the results to be fabulous! The updated illustrations and additional microscopic photographs are super helpful.
You need to be very careful about ordering the correct coloring book. It's not the new edition of the old Kapit book, but the new edition of the KAPLAN book. Since the new edition of the Apologia Human Body book was released so close to the beginning of the school year, many of my students' families were confused and we have multiple edition texts and coloring books in the class.
Overall, the text is excellent quality and I'm thrilled that Dr. Wile's writing and style is still intact.

Ask a Question▼▲
Q: I'm looking for an Anatomy curriculum for my high school student who is thinking about going into nursing school. Would "The Human Body, Advanced Biology 2nd Addition be a good choice?
Yes! The "Apologia Human Body" course is designed to prepare students for college level science. Once a student successfully completes the course they should be prepared to take Advanced Placement (AP) or College Level Examination (CLEP) tests.
Q: Is it absolutely imperative that the student do Biology and Chemistry prior to this course?
Yes! The text is written with the assumption that the student has already mastered basic biology and chemistry, so key concepts are not re-taught in this course.
