I really enjoyed reading the last book in the Danger Never Sleeps Series. Ava has had a hard life and she has already lost one parent and gets and early discharge from the military so that she can spend time with her mom before she is gone too. While visiting her mom, she is attacked and fortunately FBI agent Caden is nearby to help save her. They team up to find out what is going on and to try to stop the killer before he strikes next.

I received a copy of the book to read, the review is mine

Hostile Intent is the explosive finale to Lynette Eason's Danger Never Sleeps, and it ended up being my personal favorite of the series. Ava and Caden's story is a roller coaster from start to finish, and I had a hard time putting this one down once I picked it up.

I've always loved the trope of childhood friends becoming something more in their adult years, and the author pulls off this type of romance beautifully and effortlessly. Caden and Ava grew up together, but there's a whole side of her life that he knew nothing about, until it seems to connect with a serial murder case he's currently working on.

Lynette Eason is truly one of the best at crafting suspense stories that keep the reader at the edge of their seats for the entire story, and Hostile Intent is definitely my new favorite by her. The plot twists and turns, includes sinister elements that no one could have ever been prepared for, and showcases a beautiful romance starting to develop between the two main leads. I also appreciated the fact that while the faith element is not really at the front and center of the book, it's something that is important to both Ava and Caden and seemed to truly be a part of them that they definitely relied on, even in the midst of the dark, dark tunnel they've found themselves in.

A heart pounding nail biter, this one is definitely a great choice for fans of Christian suspense, and a perfect ending to a great series!

    Final Rating: 4/5.

Bestselling Christian fiction author Lynette Eason brings her Danger Never Sleeps tetralogy to an electrifying finale with "Hostile Intent." As with the previous three books in this series, this one can be read as a standalone, although there is strong character overlap and therefore spoilers; having previously read only the first book so far myself, I still encourage everyone to read all of them for the pleasure of the plot intricacies and the obvious research that has gone into them. Even as someone who typically shies away from contemporary military stories, I could not put this book down, and it definitely increased my heart rate a time or two!

From the first page, "Hostile Intent" ratchets up the suspense and lays the foundation for an intense romantic thriller. A caveat is necessary for those who are profoundly disturbed by the murder of children, as well as violence and torture because they are integral to the plot, but Eason handles these sensitive issues with grace and leaves out graphic details. As such, while this may not be a light read, it does take on the all-too-real brutality and antagonism that fuels so many in modern society, offering some insight into how this type of behavior comes about and where it can lead when left unchecked: "Just two more families and his mission would be complete, his promise kept. His grandmother was wrong. Vengeance didn't belong to God. It belonged to him. And it tasted sweet." However, teaching someone to hate another person or group of people for any transgression, perceived or real, will never lead to a positive outcome for anyone.

Amidst this backdrop of reprisal, Ava Jackson, who recently left the Navy to care for her dying mother, finds herself somehow involved in a case of several murdered families, of which hers might be next. Working with FBI Special Agent Caden Denning to put the puzzle pieces together before time runs out, the duo uncover secrets that someone went to great lengths to conceal--and keep that way. Just as revenge can be a powerful motivator, so too the desire to protect the ones you love, even at the cost of personal sacrifice. After all, Jesus Himself showed us that sometimes the most unpleasant situations can lead to the most blessed destinations. As Caden remarks, "It's funny how life can throw you a curve ball when you least expect it--or how God can change your perspective."

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell and was under no obligation to post a positive review. All opinions are my own.

This book was absolutely amazing and I was completely riveted from beginning to end! Clean Christian romantic suspense with lots of drama. Throughout the book there are mentions of killings from a serial killer and war killings, and nothing graphic but it can still be upsetting at times.

This was one of those books I read in one day with no interruptions because I was so involved in the characters and plot that I didn't want to stop. I liked reading about the other girls that were mentioned in previous books but each book can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed getting to know Caden and Ava and watching their friendship grow as events grew more intense and the plot thickened.

This book and this series is one that I will keep on my bookshelf to read again. I absolutely loved it! I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.

The name of this series, Danger Never Sleeps, was never more fitting for a story. The truth is that those who are seeking to keep others out of danger find it quite difficult to sleep. I think there were a few times when Caden and Ava were able to get a few winks in, such as when they were aboard a helicopter flying to meet with someone who might provide answers that would help them discover the perpetrator. Through most of the story, they were getting by on adrenaline alone. I suppose anyone who was tasked with finding and bringing to justice the person who had already murdered three families would have a hard time sleeping, especially knowing he might be coming for them. The suspense pulled me in and would not let go. The story included just enough romance to keep the reader wondering where that was headed. I suppose a romantic suspense novel always has an element of expecting the hero and heroine to develop a relationship, but yet there are many questions waiting to be answered as the story plays out. I am always grateful when reading a book whose leading characters and others have a strong faith and rely on their faith and prayers to get them through difficult situations. Though it is true that they have special skills, abilities, and knowledge to draw from, the faith factor brings an added element to the stories. I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own. #HostileIntent #DangerNeverSleeps
