i bought the film (for $10.50) to give to a friend's children because they love horses. five dollars would have been a fairer price. i was concerned from the opening scene as it shows the main girl character at her grandfathers grave sight weeping for his passing and speaking to him in the casket. it seemed a bit heavy for a film aimed at young children. many children ( including my friend's) are close to their grandparents and that is a scary topic to address in a comedy adventure film. the writers obviously were trying to explain the absence of the grandfather character from the first film. perhaps better left unexplained, kids are flexible. also, the same girl gives her teenage babysitter aunt a short lecture about why she needs to move quickly to make sure the cute ranch hand doesn't leave before he knows she's interested. Hollywood puts children in adult situations all too often. why are child actors and actresses prone towards disfunction? go figure. there is humorous moments in the film. the first film is retold briefly to bring the audience up to where the story is currently. i did not watch the end of it. not a 'keeper' or present for the friends. as always, i wish all families the wisdom of the Lord in making their viewing choices. : )
If you liked the first Horse Crazy movie you will love the second one! It is just as good as the first one! We laughed so hard at some of the scenes! Little girl was really funny in the movie!! Bad guys were very funny!! Would highly recommend movie for entire family!
