Alpha Omega Publications'Horizons Kindergarten Phonics and Reading is a phonics-based word recognition and early reading program curriculum. Students learn to identify the name and sound of each letter through picture association with a sequential alphabet story. Basic language concepts are taught through brightly illustrated readers that emphasize comprehension and language skills.

Through the course of the program, students will learn consonants and vowels, blended sounds, reading, spelling, rhyming, sequence, nouns, verbs, pronouns and contractions. Consistent review of previous concepts helps students achieve mastery learning. This set includes only the four kindergarten student readers, and is designed to accompany Level K workbooks and teacher's guides that are NOT included and are sold-separately.
