Horizons Penmanship Grade 6 provides homeschoolers with 160 lessons that also introduce students to quotes from Aesop's Fables and Native American wisdom, as well as proverbs, epigrams, riddles, rules, creeds, and poetry from around the world and classic literature. Student Workbook lessons follow a five-day weekly cycle (two days of cursive practice, one day of manuscript practice, one day of final cursive practice, and one day of "penmanship performance") and include removable daily worksheets.
The Teacher's Guide includes instructions on teaching handwriting, as well as suggestions for planning lessons and evaluating student work. The included detailed scope & sequence notes the skill taught in each lesson, along with the writing sample students are to trace & write. Each lesson in this guide includes a reduced student page with step-by-step teacher tips; a list of materials needed for the week's lesson is also included.
