nicole4 Stars Out Of 5A little disappointed in math 4March 14, 2018nicoleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 3we have used horizons math two and three and absolutely love them so it went without question to go ahead and get the level four when we finished three. I I don't understand why they made the changes they made between these two levels. For one, there are a lot of biblical references in it that require pulling out of Bible if you want to answer the questions. That seems kind of your relevant to the greater scheme of things. I don't understand why they made the changes they made between these two levels. For one, there are a lot of biblical references in it that require pulling out of Bible if you want to answer the questions. That seems kind of irrelevant to the greater scheme of things and had nothing to do with the prior years. Also the answer key in the instruction manual is just a mess! Why could they not leave it the way it was in the prior levels? Now, instead of the answer key coinciding with the pages in the student workbooks you have to go by lesson number We do not do the book by lesson numbers we just go by page number because many days we blow through several lessons in the day. Also the test answers are in a totally different section of the instructor manual instead of just following along the answer key in the lesson pages. Extremely annoying. I like the general set up and repetition of horizons enough to begrudgingly overlook these things but it was a very disappointing layout change.

My daughter loves it. My husband and I considered using a different curriculum this year and my daughter was adament that we use Horizons. The 4th grade workbook seems more colorful and seems to have more "fun" activities to apply the concepts they have learned. In the past, we seemed to get a bit bogged down with review, but this year it seems so much better. My daughter couldn't wait for the new school year so she could see what she was going to learn in her Horizons math book. She loves math and I think it is partly because of this curriculum.
Dawn Tanis5 Stars Out Of 5May 6, 2010Dawn TanisHorizons math for K-6th grade has been the best math program I have ever worked with. Th way each lesson reviews past concepts and then introduces new material is an effective learning method! Love it!
