Margaret Nyman, a wife of nearly forty years and the mother of seven children, was widowed after her husbands sudden illness and death in 2009. Blogging about her feelings helped her work through the heart-wrenching pain and encouraged thousands of readers, many of them reeling from the loss of their own mates. Hope for an Aching Heart and Prayers for a Widows Heart were written out of her desire to help other widows and respond to their cries.

Hip5 Stars Out Of 5Incredible Help and Encouragement!March 6, 2015HipQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5A friend gave me this book just after my husband was called to his Heavenly Home, last year. I have read and re-read it and bought extra copies which I have in turn given to widowed family members and friends. The superbly written, short articles explore thoughts and feelings on various aspects of the grieving process. I am indebted to Margaret Nyman for putting her experiences in writing and I congratulate her on the apt Scripture references. This book has helped me face my grief in practical ways, more than any other, except, of course, the Bible itself.

I lost my husband last March and have read this book three times since he passed. It helped me to realize that everything I was feeling was very normal and felt by most every widow I am sure. I praise God that Margaret has shared her insights with us all. You will cry as you read, but crying is a very normal part of the grieving process.

I thought the devotionals were well thought out and beautifully written. There are no meaningless words filling the pages but thoughtful and encouraging ones.
I gave this book 5/5 stars. I liked the loving way in which the author wrote some of her own personal experiences and feelings. This is a book that will encourage all who are going through a time of grieving in their lives. I would recommend this book to give as a gift to any friend who has recently lost a spouse.
I would like to thank the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.
