This is a new to me author and I was not disappointed. This book will have you on the edge of your seat one minute to watching the characters try and find healing. The first half of this book will have you on the edge of your seat why the second portion of the book slows things down a little and has you on another journey with the characters. I want so much more of Ozzy's story I feel like that story is going to be gut wrenching. I liked Rick a lot he was a strong character with determination for his friends and his country. He did not have a hero complex but stayed humble while doing what he loved. I liked Cynthia, in the beginning she felt like she needed to grow up a little bit but she too had a heart for those less fortunate and worked hard to become a better person while making the world a better place. Over all the author kept this book a clean read and it was well worth it. Can't wait to read more about these characters.

I loved the way the hero and heroine of the story are seeking to do the will of God and to follow wherever he leads. They both feel they have a calling on their lives. Many people seem to think He only calls preachers and missionaries. Everyone else is just doing a job to make a living. A key lesson in this story is that God leads and often arranges the circumstances to bring about His divine will. Rick and Cynthia both felt they were doing exactly what they were created to do. The fact they had differing viewpoints on the use of deadly force against evil men did not change who they were nor their calling. Regardless of your views on war, I feel certain none of us would relish being in the shoes of either one the day they first met. Rick and his team enter a small village seeking the doctor to treat one of their injured men. Only minutes before their arrival, two insurgents had roared into the village on a truck with a wounded soldier in the back. They were also seeking medical help. In a matter of moments, they were beyond help and Dr. Cynthia Myers is angry about the violence, although she escaped death in the process. The action is fast-paced, the romance is interesting, and the faith in action by both soldiers and medical staff was uplifting. I enjoyed the humor that was added from time to time, especially when Rick and his team were introduced by their call signs, which were interesting. I just started reading books by this author but will be watching for more.

This was quite the adventure story! Just when you think everyone is safe, yet another crisis happens. I thoroughly enjoyed this action-packed read supported by a strong cast of characters. Cynthia and Rick are the perfect juxtaposition of main characters. She's a pacifist and he's a soldier. Her Dad is the Vice-President of the United States of America, and could become his Commander-in-Chief. And yet, they develop feelings for each other. Given their vastly different backgrounds and beliefs, can they actually have a future together? And is their budding romance just a fleeting desire coming out of a near-death situation? Or something deeper and long-lasting? Not to mention - how are they going to get out of the jungle alive? These questions and more swirl together throughout the pages of this fast-paced suspense novel. A fantastic read! I will definitely be picking up books 2 and 3 in Hallee Bridgeman's "Love & Honor" series.

Honor Bound by Hallee Bridgeman is the first book in her Love & Honor series. Medical missionary, Dr. Cynthia Myers moves to Africa to seek meaning for her life. Failing to save the life of the warlord's son, her life is now in danger. Army Special Forces Captain, Rick Norton must rescue Cynthia without getting his team killed. This was a great beginning to the series. The action was non-stop. The camaraderie between the team members was admirable. I can't wait to see where this series goes from here.

I received this book from the publisher for my honest review.

It's amazing to have so much action packed into a story. The main characters were the traditional opposites attract type story line. The setting of the story was not traditional at all. To be running through the jungle with some one who annoys you and intrigues you, pushes the traditional guidelines completely out of the water. I loved how the story seemed to be over but the book was just halfway finished. The author did an amazing job of keeping it exciting until the end. My favorite part was how our main character gently lived Christ in front of all she came in contact with.

Many thanks to the publisher and author for providing a book in exchange for a honest review.
