Rebecca ManeyGastonia, North CarolinaAge: 55-65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Sweet, Fragrant RomanceJune 8, 2018Rebecca ManeyGastonia, North CarolinaAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5"Sammy was his son. Brady knew how it felt to have a parent give up on you. No way was he doing that to Sammy. He'd lay down his life for the kid."
As well intended as this sentiment was meant to be, it turned out that Brady's deceased ex-wife had ultimately deceived him even after death; Sammy was not Brady Collins' biological son. Now it was up to Brady and his attorney to convince a judge that he, not Sammy's grandparents, was the best option for Sammy's future. Ironically it seems that having a fiance, and ultimately a wife, would score huge points in Brady's favor. The trouble was, he wasn't even dating . . .. .he and his son's baby-sitter, Hope Daniels, were just best friends. Or were they?
Hope Daniels would do practically anything to secure Sammy's future with Brady; she certainly loved them both. But marry Brady, when her dream job in Atlanta was finally within reach? As long as their relationship could just bypass the word "love", she might actually be able to do it. The last time love got in the middle of her plans, the results had been traumatic.
"The fear was just too overwhelming, and she didn't have the courage to go through this again." Where is the happily-ever-after when panic takes over . . . . ."you think there's still hope"? A wonderful story filled with the tragedies and triumphs that all of us call life.

Mel A4 Stars Out Of 5A Modern "Marriage of Convenience" StoryMay 30, 2018Mel AQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0This is a contemporary "marriage of convenience" story...and I loved it!
Hope and Brady have been friends for a long time and have only thought of each other as such...until Brady finds out he could lose custody of his young son. An assumption is made, not corrected, and this leads to the two friends marrying. Brady needs a mother for his son, Sam and Hope is looking for a family of her own. They believe they can fulfill a need for each other. But, as in all relationships, difficulties arise. Brady's wife lied to him, divorced him, and then died. Hope's high school sweetheart died suddenly. They're both hurting and scared. They have to figure out how to trust each other.
I really enjoyed this story! The friendly banter between Hope & Brady, the love they both have for Sam, the romance that forms between them, it's a fun story that's well written! I liked seeing the characters grow and lean on God for their needs. Well done Denise Hunter! Looking forward to On Magnolia Lane!!
Kara LynnWVAge: 18-24Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Classic Denise HunterMay 23, 2018Kara LynnWVAge: 18-24Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This novel was a beautiful first novel to the Blue Ridge Romance series, and just as beautiful as any of Denise Hunter's other books. She never disappoints!
Brady and Hope's relationship is legit as they both fight for Sam, the right to see him in Brady's home. It's a beautiful twist that they have to pretend to be in love...because in all reality they really do feel something for each other. 'Pretend' doesn't really exist here even though they have a hard time admitting it to one another.
As always, we get a beautiful romance, a thrilling plot, and twists and turns as the characters make choices that will define them forever.
I love the inspiration, the subtle hints towards God without being overly preachy. Everything about this book shows me what I love about the author and her books.
Highly recommend for your summer read!
Melissa4 Stars Out Of 5Interesting storyMay 22, 2018MelissaQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3This is a different kind of romance. It definitely doesnt begin the way you might think.
But things seem to go along well once Brady and Hope decide to get married and the romance brews pretty hot.
So I figured what could possibly go wrong, but I wasnt even halfway through the book. I knew something had to happen to stop things from flowing so smoothly.
What that is you will have to read to find out. If you enjoy Denise Hunter or romance you will enjoy this book.
