Kym4 Stars Out Of 5Worth Fighting ForJanuary 1, 2019KymQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4Brady Collins has already gone through enough. His ex-wife has passed away, leaving Brady with Sam, his baby son, and a business to juggle. His friend, Hope, helps out when she can. Brady loves his son and cannot imagine his life without him. And then he receives news that is devastating.
Sam's maternal grandparents are filing for custody and as things stand, they have a better chance of custody than Brady does. The biggest tip the attorney offers- get married. Show the judge he is hard working, he is a family man, he is serious about being a father. Hope is willing to step up to the plate, but can their shared love for Sam be enough?
Welcome back in the world of Denise Hunter. Beautiful descriptions of scenery, the amazing personalities of the characters, the displays of selfless love. It was a very enjoyable read and I look forward to more from Ms. Hunter.

Jennybug524 Stars Out Of 5Honeysuckle DreamsAugust 12, 2018Jennybug52Quality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 44 stars- This is another heartfelt story by Denise Hunter. Brady Collins would do anything to keep custody of his son Sammy, including marrying his best friend Hope. Hope has been hurt by love before & doesn't want to risk that hurt again, so a marriage of convenience to help her best friend seems like a no brainer. She'll get the ready made family she's always wanted without having to worry about the love part.
At first the idea of their engagement and marriage seemed far fetched. But then I thought about how many marriages are still arranged to this day for a variety of reasons & figured it might not be as far fetched as I thought. Although I did struggle a bit with the idea of purposely deceiving some of their friends and family.
Brady and Hope have a lot of baggage that they each bring into their marriage. Brady has a heart of gold & my heart hurt for him as the hits kept coming for him. But I admired him for continuing to persevere through it all. I also sympathized with Hope through her struggles. I could relate to many of her anxieties. Overall this was a sweet story that would make a great summer read. My favorite book of the series so far. I look forward to reading the third book and learning more about Pastor Jack.

Nicole Cook4 Stars Out Of 5Heartwarming StoryAugust 9, 2018Nicole CookQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5In Denise Hunter's latest novel "Honeysuckle Dreams," she tells the heartwarming story of single father Brady Collins (who is raising his baby son after the death of his ex-wife) and local radio host Hope Daniels. Hope agrees to play the part of Brady's loving fiancee in order to help him fight for custody of his son after it is determined that Brady is not the biological father. Sparks soon fly between the two longtime friends as they navigate the difficulties in their new life together.
Another wonderful book by Denise Hunter. A well written contemporary story filled with romance, emotion, and very relatable characters. I definitely would recommend this book!
Susan Barrett4 Stars Out Of 5Great stand-alone sequelJuly 25, 2018Susan BarrettQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5honeysuckle dreams by Denise Hunter is the second book in the Blue Ridge Romance series, following Blue Ridge Sunrise, which you can read my review of here.
This book had somewhat of an unusual plotits a modern-day marriage of convenience between two best friends. While I didnt care for the fact that initially their engagement was based off a falsehood, it did develop quickly into truly caring for and liking each other as more than friends. This was a sweet story of friendship and family.
I really liked how one of the characters struggled with anxiety and fear, because I do think thats a common thing in society today. The author did lead the character through counseling and talking with friends to conquer the fear and anxiety, but I personally wish there would have been a little more emphasis on God and how He calms our fears (in addition to medication and counseling, if not in place of).
Overall, I would recommend this book. I read it over a weekend and it was a pleasant, summery read.

Deana5 Stars Out Of 5Beautiful Love StoryJuly 13, 2018DeanaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5There is nothing better than a book that sweeps you up and puts you smack dab in the center of the story. The author knows how to capture characters with real problems and let them unfold with emotions. I loved the characters so much that I was hoping someone would turn the book into a movie.
It's not everyday you hear about a single father but Brady is an example of not running away but stepping up to his responsibilities. He is so kind and loves his son Sam with all his heart. I loved reading about the interaction between father and son. Brady knows what it is like to be abandoned by parents and will do everything he can to make Sam feel loved and wanted.
His best friend Hope is smart, pretty and smitten with Sam. I liked how she helped Brady out by watching Sam when needed. She has a great career on the radio with hopes of one day getting the job of her dreams. Hope has carried around a fear of losing people she loves since the loss of someone special some years back. I think that holds her back from being in a serious relationship.
When there is a chance that Brady could lose custody of Sam he asks Hope for help. I was quite surprised at what he wanted them to do, but I admired him for wanting to keep Sam. The story is filled with surprises and keeps readers glued to their seats. It's a love story like none I've ever read. How far would you go to help a friend? Fear plays a big part in the story and I liked how the author used faith examples to help the character work through fear. Both Brady and Hope deal with abandonment issues and it causes distance between them. Can they work through their problems and give Sam a safe and loving home? Don't miss the discussion questions at the back of the book. They are good questions that make you examine your life and increase your faith.
I received a copy of this book from The Fiction Guild. The review is my own opinion.
