Now in reissue with a new foreword by Fred B. Craddock and afterword by the author, Eugene L. Lowry, The Homiletical Plot, Expanded Edition follows in the same solid tradition of its predecessor. Upon its release, The Homiletical Plot quickly became a pivotal work on the art of preaching. Instead of comments on a biblical passage, Lowry suggested that the sermon follow a narrative form that moves from beginning to end, as with the plot of a story. This expanded edition continues to be an excellent teaching resource and learning tool for all preachers from introductory students to seasoned clergy.
Ronald Nuckles5 Stars Out Of 5February 12, 2008Ronald NucklesI just finished reading this book. It is an excellent resource for sermon preparation. It teaches how to use your strengths, exegete the scriptures, plot the sermon, and give the message to the congregation in terms they understand so they can be helped to live better Christian lives. This book should be a must for all pastoral libraries. With this book as a resource, it will help pastors develop their own messages through an exegetical disciplined study process and give up the plagerism of the internet,i.e., stealing messages that are already worn out before they are preached again.
