Home Art Studio homeschool art curriculum DVDs are designed to increase students' love and appreciation for the visual arts while providing an opportunity to improve their abilities to problem-solve, think creatively, and express themselves artistically. Art history lessons are also integrated throughout, as well as cross-curricular suggestions for math and social studies. Students are introduced to drawing, painting, and sculpting, while lessons emphasize how art is everywhere.
Just one lesson per week will allow you to complete the program in less than a year. You simply need to provide the supplies! Lesson plan PDF documents are included on the DVD-ROM to help teachers make the most of each lesson-time. Easy-to-follow lessons are age-appropriate and concepts are reinforced in later grades; students may work at their own pace without any fear of falling behind. This program is perfect for parents who don't have a lot of art experience, but who want to ensure that their children receive a well-rounded arts education.
Third graders will have fun with the theme "Be Creative!" Students will learn the principles and elements of art, while creating 16 beautiful projects that focus on light and shadow, tint and shade, overlapping, texture, and perspective. Students will also learn about art appreciation through analysis of famous pieces of work as Ms. Volin introduces them to various artists from Picasso and Van Gogh to Charles Demuth.
125 minutes on DVD-ROM. Grade 3.

Ms. Volin is a great instructor--easy to understand and follow along, very creative. My kids often just followed along with the DVD on their own and I didn't have to help a lot. I highly recommend this art DVD series. Well worth the money!
