We love the Baby Believer series and the newest addition to the series, Holy Week: An Emotions Primer, knocks it out of the park! The quality of the board book is awesome. The thick pages are sturdy and durable, and the illustrations are simply beautiful. Not only does this book detail the different events leading up to Jesus' death and resurrection in an easy to understand manner for children, but it also pairs these events with the emotions that Jesus and others were feeling at the time. I especially love the vibrant colors that are used to convey these different emotions. For instance, the pages about Jesus' anger when he entered the temple are dark red; the pages expressing Jesus' love for his disciples are purple; and the pages portraying the sadness of many people when Jesus died are black and gray. It is important for our little ones to understand that even Jesus himself felt these same emotions that they often feel. In our house, we have little girls who feel big emotions and this book has sparked some great dialogue about processing and feeling emotions. To put it simply, it's a must have book, not only for the Easter season, but as a year-round staple in any family library!

This is probably the most theologically accurate and beautiful children's book I own in my library! This book is seriously so amazing. Not only does it provide Bible verses on every page, beautiful illustrations, but also this book is such a great way to teach principles like righteous anger, how to he sad without despair, being overwhelmed, etc. How to process emotions is such an important task as a momma and we want to lead our children in the way the Lord would have us, and this book is perfect! I also just love the theme of holy week that the book has. What a great way to teach and show the little ones the whole story of the cross, even the sad parts all to the glory of God. Seriously, this book is a must have!!! So thankful for the baby believer series.

Holy Week: An Emotions Primer is a board book that is thoughtfully written to teach the youngest minds biblical truth involving the narrative of the final days of Jesus' life, followed by his death and resurrection and the myriad of emotions that complement each part of the story. This book beautifully highlights these emotions within the context of Scripture, and each page contains Bible verses that emphasize these feelings to help little ones interpret and navigate their own feelings for themselves. The illustrations are wonderfully done-very colorful and engaging-even for the smallest of readers! My two young daughters were captivated from the first page and have enjoyed reading this book over and over again. As they grow older, I can envision continuing to read this book and extending on its concepts, especially during the Lenten season. I would highly recommend this book! You won't be disappointed! I received Holy Week compliments of Harvest House Publishers in exchange for my honest review.

We own all of the Baby Believer Books and this one is tied with the Psalms one as our favorite! The concept of exploring emotions that people felt during Holy Week is so unique. I have not seen any other books like it. My 3yr old daughter loved to try and replicate the emotions that each of the people felt and just that extra action helped her to recall so much more about the week leading up to the death and resurrection of Jesus. Each emotion is beautifully illustrated that captured her attention and led to asking deeper questions about the scriptures. We have recommended this book to all our friends with young children.
