"Holy Fool, Holy Father," written by Nicholas A. Marziani, Jr., is a book containing a mixture of history, religion and politics. This story follows the life of Misha, from his teenage years to middle age. We watch him make decisions for his life as he struggles to please his parents, his girl, and God.

Misha was raised in Russia in the 1990s. He always knew he was "different" from the other kids. He felt things deeply, especially the things of God. Through instruction and training from his local Orthodox priest, Misha learns to embrace his differences and accept them as miraculous gifts from God. He begins to understand that a "holy fool" is one who is humble, willing, and on fire for things of the Lord. When he meets the girl he plans to marry he has to weigh whether he is going to go along with God's plans for his life, or if he is going with his own. Whatever he chooses for his future, someone is going to be hurt!

I found this book to be rather thought provoking. What a different world this would be if we all obeyed God's calling! I think "Holy Fool, Holy Father" is quite intellectual and I sometimes had a hard time understanding some of the history. We learn a lot about the differences, and the similarities, of the Roman Catholic and Orthodox beliefs. This is obviously a well researched book. I think this would especially be a good read for those that enjoy religious history.

I received this book from The Book Club Network and the author in exchange for my honest review.

Beautifully written. The history throughout this book on the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church is amazing.

I loved reading the journey that these two characters went through and how God had a plan for them. God has a plan for all of us no matter what you want.

This book puts you through all the emotions, love, joy, faith, family, and forgiveness. You will be hooked from the first page!

I recieved this book from The BookClub Network for an honest review.
