In my ministry I really need to use a plain text Bible because I mostly teach the educationally challenged. What I have found, however, is that a plain text Bible is a great tool for all, especially those of us who haven't had exhaustive training in the ancient languages used to write the scriptures. There are numerous references that will help you understand particular words of these ancient languages but a Bible lesson, a Bible story or Bible verse is a flow of many words giving us hard to fully understand concepts (considering the fallen world that we live in). I consider the God's Word translation a God send. It does the best job of convening these concepts in understandable language. The thinline edition is nice and compact, but still very readable.
I love my KJV Bible as well because english was just a much more beautiful language back then, but the ease in reading of this GW Bible is amazing for daily reading, some reviews are worried of being over simplified but the foot notes take care of that. All in all I personally Love this Bible.
Sorry but God's Word Bible is a poor translation NIV is better and thats poor its easy to read but thats it, look at John 19 :31 not a good translation theres lot more, but if you want a good translation read KJV OR NKJV ESV THATS GOOD, good luck and God Bless
