In a world filled with destruction and moral decay, Holiness in an Unholy Society is a relevant book for our time, which gives a snapshot of where we are in our society. It is a spiritual call to believers to take a stand for righteousness. It moves you to think about where we are and encourages you to commend your heart back to God.
J. Poe2 Stars Out Of 5Not what I expectedFebruary 10, 2015J. PoeQuality: 3Value: 2Meets Expectations: 1Unfortunately, I was looking for a theological or apologetic book on holiness as it pertains. This is not that kind of book. This book, written by a police chief who is also in the ministry, communicates his passion for our nation and especially for teens and young adults. While timely and passionate, I encountered typographical mistakes, including editorial comments, which may not be the author's fault.
If you are looking for a book for a new Christian or a teen seeking a deeper walk, it may be a good choice. Many of the Scripture texts are from Proverbs, which is good, but with the topic being holiness, there could be more verses on the subject matter.
I appreciate this author's passion, which is easy to see. However, I thought this was a theological treatise about holiness in our lives; it's more a plea for holiness based on our American sociological trends.
Nothing wrong with that, but it's just not what I expected.
