    A waste of money

This History of Art book is sadly a total waste of money. I was so looking forward to a good Christian perspective Art History book. It is poorly set up with very unclear directions as to how to use the book as "curriculum." You need the flashcards (a separate purchase) to do this workbook properly. There are suggested crafts and games, but they are either poorly explained or as with the games, learned very quickly and you're done. I am very disappointed that there is absolutely no "meat" to this book. I thought with it being called Art History, that there would be history of art included. There are very few explanations of the time periods represented. I hate to post a negative review and rarely do. But this time it was warranted.

I was so excited to get this art book yet did not realize it is quite useless without the flashcards sold seperately. I thought it was full of information about art history, yet it has none. It has questions and projects for your children that they do not have the proper info to use. I told my child how exciting this was going to be to learn from just to realize there is literally nothing to learn from in this book. In realizing it is a set, I feel like the flashcards should be included in the cost even if that meant for the cost to be raised. It did not seem to be marketed as ONLY worksheets and project ideas.

This workbook has been wonderful for our family. The kiddos (ages 10, 8, 4, and 2) love seeing the famous artwork and it is easy to adapt to all ages for a delightful introduction to art throughout history. As far as price/value goes, it really can not be beat. We add it to our history lessons as we study through the Story of the World and Veritas press.
