Tell us a little about yourself. I have been on worship teams as either a member or Worship Leader in various churches since 1988. During COVID I re-tooled to serve the body of Christ beyond the local church by earning a PhD in Christian Worship. Now I am teaching in higher education as well as serving in my local church to the glory of God.
What was your motivation behind this project? The goal of this first book was to reveal the essential elements of fruitful worship ministry from a most fruitful church within the most fruitful church movement replicating around the world. The aim is to transfer across time and contexts that which God responds to in fruitful worship ministry.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? In this season of life I hope worshippers can draw salient examples to cause them to be more pleasing to the Lord. The guiding verses for this project are Psalm 145:4-5 One generation will commend Your works to the next, and will proclaim Your mighty acts, the glorious splendor of Your majesty. And I will meditate on Your wondrous works.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? My relationship with the Lord has deepened and sharing this paradigmatic ministry with others I trust will lead worshippers into a stable and sustainable congregational worship life as Jesus intends.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? After The Holy Spirit and the Holy Bible other men have set an example for me; A. W. Tozer; Norm Geisler; Chuck Smith are some of the well-known men from the 20th century.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Jesus said He would build His church. Commit to Him, the Bible and His Spirit living inside you as the born-again believer to cooperate with the Father as did Jesus to worship in spirit and in truth. You were created for worship, so let's worship.
