God is My Hiding Place is written by Corrie ten Boom. Corrie ten Boom's family were Dutchwatch makers. They hid Jews during World War 11. The family are so inspiring to risk their own lives by hiding the Jews. The family were arrested and put in concentration camps. Their story is told in the book and movie The Hiding Place. Corrie was released from the concentration camps. She lived to tell her story all over the world. She shared about God's love, presence in her life during her time in World War II. She was a tramp for the Lord. I have been inspired by her life and the many lives she touched. This devotional is so rich , deep and unusual. In the devotional she shares how she had to forgive a former S.S. man who was in the concentration camp in Ravensbruck. This officer came to one of her speaking engagements after the war. He told her He became a Christian. She was face to face with someone who had hurt her deeply. This story showed me how I need to forgive in the most difficult situations. and the people involved. God is truly our hiding place in the difficult days we face. Jesus is our anchor. Thank you to the publisher, the author , netgalley for allowing me to read and review this outstanding book.

This is one of the very few devotionals I've been able to stick to. I'm not big on devotionals but this one was not only doable but very relational. I love Corrie Ten Boom, ever since reading "The Hiding Place" as a teen, I've admired her conviction, virtue, and her Godly wisdom.

In this 40-day devotional, Corrie draws on her expansive life experiences and stories from others as testimonies of God's faithfulness. Each devotional is 3 pages long and includes Scripture at the beginning and a prayer at the end. The portions are taken from Corrie's books and other writings, so you come across some of her most famous quotes you've probably read somewhere online. This is a good book to be introduced to Corrie's longer works if you're not familiar with her story.

Though the devotions are short, they are powerful and jammed-packed with wisdom. This is perfect for reading in the morning to start your day right. Some topics include: victory in God, joy, forgiveness, power of prayer, worry, anxiety, fear, God's will, God's provision, among many others.

I'm currently on day 11 and look forward to reading this every morning. This makes for a perfect little gift.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Chosen in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Based on the writings of Holocaust concentration camp survivor, Corrie Ten Boom, God is My Hiding Place is a collection of 40 timeless devotions which are as applicable today as they were when Corrie wrote them before her death on her 91st birthday in 1983.

Full of encouragement and simple truths, this is a devotional book to keep close by on a shelf to read over and over.

Within the 40 devotions are rich pull-out quotes gems to hold onto. One of my favorites is The center of God's will is the safest place for me to be. In this devotion, Corrie relates how during the war, after she was released from Ravensbruck, a man asked Corrie to go back to the prison with him to seek release for a friend. Through circumstances while there, she realized this was not the work God had called her to. She says, We must be careful not to hold on to what we had when God calls us to move on.

But the devotional thought I hold dearest is this. When we are willing and obedient, He bestows upon us the wisdom, strength and courage of heaven. We are never too old to begin something new when we do it with Him.

I highly recommend God is My Hiding Place to all those in search of devotions to strengthen their faith.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House for a fair and honest review, which is exactly what I gave.
