Hidden in the Stars is a nice, refreshing mystery from Robin Caroll. The is only the second story I have read in the Quilts of Love series, but I feel it is a great addition. Anyone who knows me knows I like a story that keeps me guessing to the end. This story did just that. Another very good story penned by Robin Caroll.

A great romantic suspense read, kept me up late at night--had a hard time putting it down! First book I've read by Robin Caroll, found myself engaged from beginning to end, with the mystery surrounding the murders, Sophia's family history, and the heirloom quilt. Inspired by the faith of some of the characters, even through traumatic events, and the spiritual reawakening of the detective. Recommend for inspirational suspense fans!

Hidden in the Stars packs a powerful punch in a relatively short number of pages! The premise is incredibly sadSophia left completely alone, injured, without the ability to speak after being brutally attacked in her mother's home. However, the author does a great job bringing people along to help push the story forward, solve the crime, and befriend Sophia. Sophia's trust in the Lord is refreshing, and her friendships with Charlie and Julian are an uplifting part of the story.

This book was emotional, intense, sweet, and a true roller coaster. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and I will definitely be looking up more of Robin Caroll's books in the future. [4 stars]

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher through Litfuse Publicity in exchange for my fair and honest review.

Thank you litfuse for this review copy.

Parents can be some of the most passionate determined people on earth. Perhaps you've seen parents at a ballgame cheering or jeering or yelling at the umpire. Perhaps you've seen parents obsessing over dance classes or piano recitals or grades or you name it. Sometimes it all gets way out of control. That's where this book begins... with a parent trying to live her dreams through her daughter.

I had a bit of trouble getting into this book. I'm not really into crime scene investigation type books, and I'm not really interested in ballet. I thought that the story would be a feel good story since it was about a quilt and I assumed quilting. It was a much more complex and detailed crime story than I expected.

I did find that the I was drawn to both Sophia, the main character and Julian, the detective investigating the case. The fact that Sophia was unable to speak after she and her mother were brutally attacked lent an unusual aspect to the story line. If you like mysteries but don't like violent details, you may want to pass on this book. All this said, if you like detective stories and whodunits, and you don't mind a violent, but not graphic, details, you may find that you enjoy this book.

That's about as diplomatic as I can be. ~wink~
