C J5 Stars Out Of 5Great Mystery/Suspense BookAugust 3, 2024C JQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Hidden in the night by Elizabeth Goddard is a good suspense/mystery story. It is the 3rd book of the Missing in Alaska Series. I read it as a standalone book but I think it would be better to read the books in order. Ivy Elliott and Nolan Long are the too main characters. Ivy is a former FBI worker who lives in Florida and Nolan lives in Alaska and works as an Alaska State Trooper. They met each other in their past when Ivy and her Mom went to Alaska to visit and find out about a rare book manuscript of Jack Londons that she is hoping to purchase from this woman Lina in Alaska. However when she goes to Alaska to meet Lina to get the manuscript her plans change because her granddaughter went with her Uncle to be out of harms way for awhile and she took the manuscript with her. Ivy goes on a mission to find Linas granddaughter because Lina has not heard from her or the uncle in a few days and she is worried of course. Ivy and Nolan meet again and they work together and help each other along the way while trying to stay alive. They realize they love each other in the end too. Thank you to Netgalley and Revell for giving me the opportunity to read and review a ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

Filled with intrigue and mystery, Ms. Goddard phenomenally draws the read into the story with breath-taking scenes, well-developed characters, and a plot that draws the reader in from the very first page. The struggle is real to take a break until the very end!

The action is intense and the suspense is heart-stopping. Add to that the beauty of the scenery she describes in Alaska. I enjoyed the interaction between the leading characters. The police chief and the Alaska State Trooper were sister and brother. Then there was Ivy, who Nolan called Sunshine Girl because she was from Florida. The reader is kept guessing throughout the story whether he will ever get his vacation, and if so, whether he will still go to Florida as he had planned before people started turning up dead. The reader is taken from snow-covered roads to turbulent skies to crashing waves to glacial caves. If you have not yet read the first two books, I recommend you read them first to get acquainted with several of the main characters in this story.

Ivy Elliott gave up her FBI job to help her ill mother run their rare bookstore. Ivy goes to Alaska to track down and purchase an unpublished manuscript by Jack London, which leads her to Shadow Gap and Nolan Long, an Alaska State Trooper she'd met on a previous trip with her mother. There's so much going on in this book-a missing girl, murders, and attacks on Ivy and others. There are many twists and turns plus the attraction between Ivy and Nolan. But how are all these things related and how can things work out between Floridian Ivy and Alaskan Nolan? I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to those who like reading romantic suspense.

KimP5 Stars Out Of 5Riveting SuspenseJune 28, 2024KimPQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for Hidden in the Night, Softcover, #3.Hidden in the Night by Elizabeth Goddard is the third book in her Missing in Alaska series. Ivy Elliott lives in Florida and collects rare books along with her ailing mother. Looking to acquire an unpublished manuscript by Jack London she travels to Alaska. The manuscript has disappeared along with the granddaughter of the woman who owned it. Teaming up with Alaska State Trooper Nolan Long, Ivy is on the trail of both. Who knew that searching for a priceless manuscript could be so dangerous. If it's not the bad guys trying to stop you it's the Alaska winter. Nolan and Ivy were a great team! The chemistry between the two could be felt through-out the story. The author did a great job describing the Alaska scenery without going overboard. I really enjoyed the story and the suspense kept me turning the pages!
I received this book from the publisher for my honest review.
