ButterflyreviewAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Hidden Agenda by Lisa HarrisJanuary 22, 2015ButterflyreviewAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Presumed dead by friends and family, Michael Hunt is alive--and on the run. Presumed dead by friends and family, the undercover assignment he's been working for the past eight months has just been blown. With a hit out on his life and corruption inside the Atlanta police department, Michael finds himself hunted by both the cartel and the law. His only hope is Olivia Hamilton--the daughter of the man who wants him dead.
This story revolves around Michael, Olivia, and Ivan (Olivias deaf brother) trying to survive the hired killers who are after them. The only thing that has kept Michael going for the last eight months is his faith in God. To me he is presented as a sort of super cop. Kind of like you see on TV. Olivia starts out kind of wimpy then does a complete turn around and wants to see justice done after finding out what kind of man her father really is. Ivan is the one who gives Olivia the shove she needs to help Michael, therefore setting the whole story in motion.
The book starts out fast and the action doesnt stop. There is the romantic interaction between Michael and Olivia. As in most books, they fall in love right away. Which I always find a little farfetched.
I would recommend this book to anyone. There is nothing offensive in any part of this book. No language or sex scenes. If you like suspense thrillers, then this book is for you. I really enjoyed it.
I was given this book by the publisher is exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated is anyway. -

Southern Crimes 3
By Lisa Harris
For the last eight months Michael Hunt's family thought he was dead, killed in an explosion while working undercover. What they thought was wrong and unless something changes soon Michael Hunt will be dead and his family will never know the truth.
The case that Michael has been working on has him deeply embedded with the cartel. But his cover has been blown and he finds himself on the wrong side of the cartel and the law. With time running out his only hope lies with the children of the man he has been gathering evidence against.
Olivia Hamilton can't believe that her father is capable of what she's heard. But there is a life in danger and she can't wait to discover the truth before acting. The cartel has influence throughout the region and Michael and Olivia don't know who they can trust.
This is a fast paced suspense that will keep you up reading into the waning hours of the night. Deception has filled their lives and they must work through the layers to get to the truth. But time is short in this battle for control. Will the cartel rule the day? Or will the Hunt family finally be reunited?
Hidden Agenda takes place just days after the events in Fatal Exchange. And while reading the first two books isn't necessary they provide an important back story so that some of the references are more fully appreciated. And if you have read the previous Southern Crimes books read them again looking for clues you may have missed the first time around.
I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher Revell through their blogger program in exchange for my honest review.

Foster3Ontario, CanadaAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A Roller Coaster Ride!January 21, 2015Foster3Ontario, CanadaAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5If you want to read a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, with your heart pounding, this is definitely for you!!
The plot is chalk full of twists and turns, keeping the reader enthralled from start to finish. The story moves quickly through the world of crime. Just when you think that you have solved the mystery, another complication occurs that has you totally puzzled once again! A non stop chase keeps you guessing, as well as breathless.
Presumed dead by friends and family, Michael Hunt is alive - and on the run! His cover has been blown and the enemies are on his heels. He knows that they are closing in. Michael has been working on his undercover assignment for a long eight months. Suddenly, it has blown up in his face!! With a hit on his life and corruption within the Atlanta police department, Michael finds himself hunted by both the cartel and the law!! His only hope happens to be the daughter of the one who wants him dead- Olivia Hamilton. The evil that is encountered has all of the characters have their faith shaken and tested. They discover the importance of trusting and faith in God, even in the middle of the worst possible circumstances that life can throw at them .
The characters are realistic and well developed. You feel their every fear and challenge. In fact, you become one with them, fearful , shaking in your boots, waiting for the next tragedy to occur. You are on the run with them!!!
This book is far more than a chase and a romance novel. It is a story of faith tested, when in the most dire and threatening circumstances you could ever imagine. Where is God when you need Him most? He is there, but you have to call upon Him and trust Him to pull you through.
Definitely, a FIVE star book!! A roller coaster of a ride through an undercover agents experience. Will he be able to trust and obey ? That is the important question. When your life is threatened , what do you do???
This book was provided by Revell in exchange for a fair and honest review. -
GramsElizabethtown, KYAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Fast Paced ActionJanuary 19, 2015GramsElizabethtown, KYAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Since retiring I have had the pleasure of adding several new authors to my favorites list. The most recent being Lisa Harris. While I enjoy a wide variety of genres, mysteries will always compose the greatest number of entries in my reading log. Harris proves herself to be a masterful writer in this genre.
Hidden Agenda is fast paced and action packed, with well written dialogue. Harris has added a touch of romance that serves the plot well without taking over. While the book reads like a movie script, the events seem plausible and the worlds of undercover police work and drug cartels well researched.
While reading this, the third book of the Southern Crime series, the reader is aware that the previous books most likely focused on protagonist Michael Hunt's siblings, but the book works well as a stand alone read. While facts are revealed about the outcome of the first two mysteries, enough is left unsaid to pique rather than squelch the reader's interest in reading those books as well.
A major theme of Hidden Agenda is doing the right thing even when it is not convenient or even safe to do so. A second, and no less important theme, deals with faith in the sovereignty of God and the freedom that comes from the truth He reveals. Michael Hunt is forced by circumstances to look at God in a different light, to trust in God's goodness and truth even when answers to his questions were not forthcoming. The reader is encouraged to trust in God to walk with him or her and to trust in the profound truth that God is good, even in the midst of trials.
I highly recommend Hidden Agenda to both fans of mystery and romance novels. While the author probably wrote the book with women readers in mind, I believe men would enjoy it as well. I've suggested my husband add it to his to be read pile. I thank Revell Publishers and Christian Fiction Blog Alliance for providing Hidden Agenda for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

Debbie WilderSalinas, CAAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5An adrenaline rush packed suspense novel!January 19, 2015Debbie WilderSalinas, CAAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I loved visiting the Hunt family once again. It was great to read the story of Michael Hunt, middle child and only son. This close knit family is wonderful and a joy to get to know. I love these characters as well as the new ones that are introduced in this book. Lisa Harris has an incredible talent for developing deep characters and presenting them.
The plot was intense and had plenty of surprising twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end.
I thoroughly enjoyed this third book in the Southern Crimes series. I suspect that it is going to be the last one and it felt like a good wrap up to me. I would definitely suggest that you read this series in order since each book is the story of one of three siblings and they follow the family throughout.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.
