Michael Hunt has been presumed dead for quite some time by his family, friends, and co-workers. Unbeknownst to those he loves, he is alive and has been working undercover posing as a member of the notorious drug cartel Atlanta police have been chasing for years. When the curious son of the drug cartel's boss stumbles upon an interrogation session where cartel members have discovered Michael's true identity and beat him, Michael is rescued by Ivan and his sister, Olivia. Ivan and Olivia, both the illegitimate children of the drug cartel leader, not only help Michael escape but join him in his attempts to uncover the truth about their father's crimes. After reuniting with his family and rejoining the police effort with a few select friends he trusts on the force, Michael suspects that there is deception and corruption on the force. Together, they search out clues, follow leads, and run from danger in an effort to uncover the mole and stop the cartel before more lives are lost.

I had mixed feelings about Hidden Agenda. Michael and Olivia's romance seemed improbable- they had nothing in common and barely knew each other. At times the plot dragged, and at other times it exploded with action. I enjoyed having characters from past books in the series show up as part of Hidden Agenda's plot, and it was also intriguing to find out what "really happened" to Michael. And the mole was a complete surprise!

"Hidden Agenda" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. It's the third book in a series. You can understand what's going on without reading the previous novels. However, some events from the previous novels are spoiled in this one, so I'd recommend starting with the first book.

The suspense is high from start to finish. It's mainly created by the physical danger, but it's also from the relationship tensions. Who can they trust after all the lies? Also, Ivan is deaf, but he's now an adult. He wants his sister to stop mothering him and see him as a capable adult. These relationship dynamics kept the story interesting. I appreciated that Olivia and Michael realized they need to get to know each other under normal circumstances to see if their on-the-run attraction is a enduring one.

The Christian element was mostly in how their faith effected their decisions, like the siblings saving a man they weren't sure of or people deciding to forgive the lies that they were told by loved ones. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd highly recommend this suspense novel.

I received this as an ebook review copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

This is the third book in the Southern Crimes Series. Even though you could read this one alone and follow along well, I would recommend reading the first two first. This series focus on one family, therefore the history and background of this family is important in understanding all that is happening. Plus the first two books, Dangerous Passage, and Fatal Exchange are good reads too.

Michael Hunt is an undercover cop that has been presumed dead for months. When the tables turn and his identity is revealed the stakes escalate. Will he be able to make it out alive or will his family never realize that he is actually alive? Will his undercover work really make a difference and bring down the cartel or is it all in vane?

Olivia Hamilton is a journalest in search of the truth about her father. Yet she is not certain that she is ready to hear it. When difficult circumstances must have her choose between right and wrong will she put her life on the line to do the right thing?

This is a fast paced, surprising novel. There are many twist and turns throughout this book. If you enjoy reading contemporary, Christian, cop type romances you will enjoy this novel. I love the Hunt family bond and their relationships throughout this book. I was given a copy of this book from net galley for my honest opinion.

I loved this book! I finished reading it today, but still wanted to read more! Harris made the characters feel like friends and I wasnt ready to say goodbye. I have not read Dangerous Passage or Fatal Exchange, the first two books in this series, but did not feel like I had to in order to enjoy this story. After reading Hidden Agenda I can tell you that I would love to read the other two. Harris is an amazing author. She had me on the edge of my seat, and ignoring my kids because I couldnt wait to find out what was going to happen next.

Olivia and her brother Ivan were waiting to see their mostly absent father Antonio Valez, when Ivan witnessed something horrible. Sneaking away to find his sister they realize there is more going on than either of them knew. Olivia has some questions she wants answered, but they will have to wait. Ivan cant just leave knowing someone is in danger. Michael Hunt is praying for a way out, and doesnt expect that way to be Olivia and her brother. What will happen next? Is anyone safe?

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Romantic Suspense. You can bet I will be reading more by Lisa Harris! I received a copy of this book from Revell in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.
