Tell us a little about yourself. I'm Barry Westmoreland, co-author of "Hells Bend - A Moment From Eternity."
What was your motivation behind this project? In the fall of 2007, I was part of Judgment House at a local church in North Mississippi. It ran for 3 nights in a row. In this program, there were multiple scenes that got every ones attention. The hell scene was the one that made the biggest impact. Witnessing all this made me wonder what I could do. I began to think, what happens after 3 nights? What can I do to keep this type story going? Over the next couple of years, I began to pray about it. I knew deep down in my spirit, God had a plan for all this.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I pray everyone across this nation and around the world will get a chance to read this story before its too late. This is not a feel good story. This is a story of reality that can hit your home anytime no matter who you are. The subject of Heaven and hell has been watered down to the point that no one really gives it much any thought anymore. This story will open your eyes and make you think!
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? First of all...this project was God driven. As I look back on my own life experience and can see that He had been working in my life all along. Although "Hells Bend" is based on some fiction, the true events that it surrounds is what makes the most impact. The impact that it made on me personally was to see the hand of God at work on every area of this story as it came together. You will definitely feel the anointing as you read!
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I would have to say, there are too many to list. To narrow it down, I would say my wife, family and friends inspired me the most.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: God has a plan. You're in it. How will you handle the bend in your life?
