What was your motivation behind this project? This book started partly as my grieving therapy - in the recent passing of my wife, Sandy. I miss her smile, her voice in our talking together, and in sharing our long walks holding hands, and daily hugs. But it became my joy to search the scriptures to see what Jesus says about Heaven and eternal life living with Him, now face to face!
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? As believers in Jesus, we know that this earth is not our home. Because of Jesus's finished work on the cross, I present this book in love and comfort for you to also know life does not end in death for those in Christ. For our citizenship is not of this world but in Heaven. And the Glory of Jesus is the pearl of great price! And with our last breath, our faith becomes realized! So my prayer is as we study together - that His Spirit will guide us through the scriptures I highlight as I ask God about thirty-five questions: "What happens when a believer dies - next?"
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? My first two books were also about Jesus, " and my heart of love for Jesus was expressed to my family and the reader as part testimony, part Bible study. But with "At Heaven's Door," my heart was tender to the sudden loss in the passing of Sandy, my wife. The study of God's word that came days after her death comforted me in my time of greatest need! God is so good! I praise Him and give Him Glory for how He has sustained and is sustaining my family and me.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: As mentioned, this book completes a trilogy of the first two books I previously authored. The first book studies Jesus's active living within us. The send book details the signs Jesus shares with His disciples for when He returns, leading to His rule from the earth - a bible study of Matthew 24. And this book is about living eternally with Jesus.
