Tell us a little about yourself. Born into a family of traditional, strict and proud conservative Episcopalians (Anglican Communion), I naturally assumed that I had more than enough Christianity with devotions every morning and evening at home, Christian elementary school, two devotions daily in Grammar School the first at 5.00am in the hostel and the second at School Assemblies ending before 8.00am. Post Secondary even came complete with Chapel before 8.00am and vespers at 7.00pm.
Back there in the turbulent Sixties -- something happened. Somehow, about 5.00pm on a balmy autumn evening, somewhere in that chapel, something changed. When I stepped out of the chapel that day, the world looked strangely different. My world was forever changed by the touch of Christ. This mysterious change has remained unshakable even through periods of lukewarmness and nights of the soul.
What was your motivation behind this project? Two-fold: To point believers' attention to preparedness as the central purpose of Christ's warnings concerning his coming so that the forest will not be missed for the trees of time-lines, contending interpretations, and all else; To be a witness to what I know so that other lives may be challenged and enriched.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? That Jesus is the central character of all end- time events and the only assured way to be partakers with him in his glory when he comes back is to live a life that is prepared for him right here and now.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Earliest influences: E. M. Bounds, Andrew Murray, C. S. Lewis, C. H. Spurgeon, Oswald Chambers, Kurt Koch and Watchman Nee. Middle Influences: Raphael Gasson (The Challenging Counterfeit), Cliff Duddley & Mel Tari (Like A Mighty Wind), H. A. Maxwell Whyte, J. du Plessis, John G. Lake, Smith Wigglesworth, Kenneth Hagin, R. A. Torrey, A. W. Tozer, and Charles Price. Unorthodox influences: Pat Boone (The book - I Sing A New Song) and Arthur Blessitt Later Influences: Paul, the Apostle and just plainly going back to the Bible and prayerfully staying at it until the meaning is clear. My all-time favorite book: Angels on Assignment by Charles & Frances Hunter.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: From Heaven With A Shout! is a book on Christian living that is informed as much by prophecy and the end times as by theology and biblical studies. It is HOW Christian living must take a decidedly watchful, serious and committed tone in order to prepare for the coming of the Lord. The book is divided into three sections. The first section covers such questions as: What is the Rapture? When is the Rapture? How will the Rapture take place? The reader will be pleasantly surprised about how clearly, and with well documented precedents, the Bible has already provided unassailable answers. The second section tackles 24 questions covering the whole gamut of teachings, suppositions, puzzles and queries about the Rapture and the Coming of the Lord. This may well be described as FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). There is something here for every reader: the one who wonders why a loving God would leave anybody behind; the believer who is tired of dates that have failed to live up to expectation; the child of God who wants to do the right thing but feels confused or inadequately informed about this doctrinal stuff; the serious student of the Bible who is turned off by positions and arguments and all else. The answers are direct, side-stepping distracting controversies and the sensational. The last section, about 60% of the book, lays down steps that the believer must either take to be in a place of readiness for the Lord or to maintain his preparedness. Many readers will probably be stunned to discover that the Bible has already demonstrated that even if the date, place and hour of the Rapture were known, that by itself means nothing and confers no privilege on recipients of such knowledge! But being prepared does.
