MarilynNebraskaAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5I highly recommend this book too.April 6, 2011MarilynNebraskaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Pastor Wiersbe has done us a huge favor in simplifying the necessity of prayer. "Prayer isn't an option; it's an obligation and an opportunity for us to glorify God's name and receive His blessings." pg. 12 "The bigger prayer is in our lives, the smaller our burdens and battles will appear and the greater our blessings will become." pg. 13 "To neglect prayer is to cheapen everything Jesus accomplished for us at Calvary and is doing for us now in glory." pg. 13 That's just a tiny sample of the beginning folks! Pastor Wiersbe then goes on to explain the Lord's Prayer is a model that Jesus gave us, and "that just about every prayer burden we might have can fit into each of the six requests.
Alan George5 Stars Out Of 5June 9, 2010Alan GeorgeI had a difficult time "getting into" the book. I was immediately disappointed and was sorry that I had bought ten copies. But once the middle of the chapter on "Relationship I" came around, the book took on the practical aspect that Dr. Wiersbe is noted for. I recommend the book heartily!
Rita Grice5 Stars Out Of 5March 21, 2010Rita GriceI picked this book up at my local bookstore to help me with a series of lessons on the Lord's prayer I will be leading at two local nursing homes. I am only half-way through readng this volume and it has caused me to rethink the model prayer. Yes, it is a model prayer, but the meaning behind each phrase or word is more than I understood before. I am looking forward to completing the book and then working up my lesson plans to present each phrase to my audience. I know that by studying this small book my understanding of prayer and my relationship with my Lord will be increased and enriched. I want to recommend this book to my Sunday School director as a book to consider for Sunday School lessons. What a powerful study on the model prayer!!
